What is your post race ritual once the venue closes? Rest the remainder of the day? Mow the grass? Paint the house? Drink a Beer? Eat whatever you want?

I want to make sure I am doing the right thing.

Eat whatever food they have at the race; then go home, shower, and sit down and relax the rest of the day.

I usually try to eat what is healthy and will help me recover better, but with most of my races I have had to drive home 5 hours away from Norfolk, VA so pretty much after the race I get in my car and head home after visiting the parents in PA / where the race has been

So far after my races it's been Philly Cheesesteak, fries and a milkshake. Just saying that out loud makes it all worth it!

Food.  Usually whatever hits my fancy at that point, and I figure the calories don't count for that one day.

Then - home and a long shower, and a longer nap.

I did my first tri a couple of weeks ago. I went back to the hotel (sooooo thankful for late checkout times ), went to eat at a Mexican buffet (mmmmmm) and then went home to take a short (3 hour) nap. It was freakin' awesome!

I like to find the nearest garbage can as I cross the finish line and Puke right there at the finish, usually nothing more than a little gatorade or water.

A stop at In-N-Out (always) - double patty protein style and 2 orders of fries! Then back home to rest and lay around. Sometimes a dip in the pool!
