Pre-race routine:

Did some minor stretching but not much. I went out the night before and partied. Carb loaded with burgers and fries! The best pre race meal ever!
Event warmup:

Light stretching and light run before.
Run
  • 54m 13s
  • 4 miles

Comments:

I just took this race really easy. I wanted to finish in 48 minutes but I was about six minutes off of that. It was a nice easy race, ran the whole way. Didn't stop to walk once and I really felt good about that. My first mile was right on pace. 12:30, but the second mile I kinda' lost it then I hit a couple of hills. Overall not my best run but hey better than I thought.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe kick it in better at the end.
Post race
Warm down:

Hot cider and talking.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My big a$$

Event comments:

I have to work on kicking it in gear at the end of a race. My start off pace was good but I just slowed down at the end. It was crazy. I need to pace myself better. I got to find a way to give me more energy at the end of a race.

Way to go Ovetta!!  You rock with the running lately.  This is a longer running race than your last couple, and a trail run on top of that (with hills!) - I think you did great!

34 degrees - weren't you COLD???

Well, there's no way I could run 4 miles without stopping right now, so I admire anyone who can

Great Job! Stupid hills, who needs 'em anyway? Glad to see you got a nice 4 mile run on the books with burgers and fries pre-race and hot cider afterwards. Sounds like a beautiful day to me
