Subject: Transition bag frustration...

So I've been searching for a transition bag online. How come no manufacturer (or very few) have complete product pics?? I mean hardly any show the inside of the bag itself. I've been looking at Zoot, Blueseventy, Rocket Science, etc.

To top it off they don't tell me how many cubic in. or volume of space...

 Am I alone here??

Maybe you should get a bucket instead.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Carry on.

Do you have a photo of the interior? Any shoe compartments? Smile

I have a TYR transition bag.  Lots of inside pockets.  TriSports has pictures of the inside for this one - might have it for other bags too

Grizz, That is funny you mention this pack as it is actually we've used as a transition bag, and quite successfully too.

The CamelBak BFM is a military pack that has oddly convenitent compartments for triathlon use. Unlike traditional triathlon-specific transition bags your helmet and shoes go on the inside- and ther is room for an aero helmet, the bane of most current transition bags.

The BFM is very large for a transition bag, but it hold everything you need and maybe then some.

I'm currently working on a review of the Rocket Science Sports Elite Bag and I'm very impressed. Highly recommended.

I've also used a military bag. A NATO paratroopers backpack that I picked up at the Army/Navy store in Harvard Sq. in Cambridge, MA.  Great all around utility backpack.

I am using my daypack I carried my college books in.  IT's at least 10 years old and still works.  I do find that I am gathering more TRi related stuff that I am keeping in it.

I just got the Zoot Tri Bag for my anniversary and love it.  Wet bag for the wetsuit.  Two shoe compartments, aero helmet fits inside, tons of room inside.  A bit more pricey than the others listed but it is awesome.

Another vote for the Tyr transition bag here.  Two mesh pockets inside for shoes as well as two mesh pockets on the other side of inside, a wetsuit bag, bottom unzips for wet stuff, etc.

There's a pic of it opened on that page as well

Not sure exactly what the project is, but having pictures of bags empty and then filled would be nice. Almost a comparison of what different bags can hold. Have a bunch of typical equipment and show how each bags holds the items.

One quality to look for is a 'wet compatment' ... with vents to allow for your wet things to dry without molding.  Another is a convenient place to store your helmet and yet another for sunglasses.  Finally a secure pocket to hold keys and such.

Beyond that, you do not need that much. Less is more in T1 and T2

I am glad to catch a recent post about Tri-packs...I'm currently using a DeSoto ---
It's been a bit disappointing wear-&-tear-wise.  I've only had it a year and parts are unstitching and tearing.  I do use it as a gym bag, as it is only one I have with mesh for wet things.

Do you all use a separate bag for the gym (other than the transition pack)?
