I personally don't rely on nutrition from the course cause 1) what if they run out when you get there and you have no fuel and 2) they only have a flavor that you can't stand and it makes you sick (like a choc gel on NY marathon course did to me). Be prepared! x2... what if you've been practicing with GU and they only offer Hammer Gel and your tummy rejects it? MANY people can tolerate only one brand of Gel, or a certain brand gives them GI issues. I just think in case you absolutely know 100% what will be offered on the course (and in some cases you will ) and know your body will accept it, you need to carry your own nutrition. |
