mike_in_denver - 2009-09-16 4:39 PM Heh I've been away from BT and just heard the news. I'm already doing the Denver Half. I saw the web site so I'll put some bucks up, and wear a shirt if there's any left. My best to Richard and Julia.... Mike

Thanks for your generosity! There are plenty of shirts left, Lilia the T-shirt Queen just put the links up on www.dickdime.info for shirt orders. We have a bunch of orders already but first batch is about 110 shirts....

Whizzzzz - 2009-09-18 8:41 PMI'm thinking of coming out and volunteering with Stacie. I probably won't be able to run as I've thoroughly thrashed my only good knee doing Ironman this weekend. I will probably have to have it scoped. If I'm not ambulatory, I'd be willing to try a wheel chair option too!

As a relay.
Would be great to see you even if you aren't in motion! Thanks much for your early donation to our fund!

We should figure out a meeting place for after the race so we can snap a photo to give to Richard.  I don't know that area very well ... any suggestions?

that is an awesome idea.  I don't have any brilliant ideas for a meeting spot other than somewhere near the finish line?

I'm wondering if it will be easier to get the picture at the start, especially since there may be a huge difference in finish time for some of us. We all have to be at the start line at the same time though.

Anyone talented enough to make a pledge sheet?  I could probably round up more $ that way than sending folks to a website.  Hoping to have cool graphic and Dime's story on it but haven't had time/talent to do it myself.

I drafted pledge sheets for the marathon, small info sheets for those who pledge, and general fundraising info sheets for posting.  I'll run it past Zev/Drew/Greg today @ the bbq and Dills since he's in one of the pics.  If you want me to email the 3 page .pdf to you, let me know: [email protected]

Sorry I had to miss the BBQ- I spent the morning in the ER @ Sky Ridge with a newly broken 5th metatarsal. Which brings me to my next point- anyone want to pick up my leg in the Denver For Dime relay team? I'd like to do it in a wheelchair but everyone is telling me I'm nuts. Our team is already registered, so I don't know if an official "transfer" is possible. But PM me and let me know. This is a bummer on so many levels.

You may be nuts anyway
Not sure how the wheel-chair would go over, but at least you could protect your hands with biking gloves.
I'm starting to put word out about possible replacements...will get you a registration check sometime this week
We could always re-title as "Denver for Dime Fife and Drum Core relay" with all the other injuries cropping up!

OK, so it seems like it might be tough but we're looking to do a meetup/beer drinking/photo op for Dime and Julia after the race Sunday. Possibly at Irish Snug or maybe Wynkoop... If you're interested please post- since I've been relegated to team driver for my relay, I can easily spare some time trying to get a large table or room reserved somewhere. And this would be a totally informal thing, everyone paying their own drinks and stuff- just a bunch of BT'ers trying to show support for one of our own!

I think trying to arrange for people to get together after the race is a great idea.

I still think meeting before the race will be the best for a photo op though since everyone has to be in one central place at the same time. If we wait until a meeting later that afternoon at a different location, some people may not be able to make it because they need to get home to their families, have to travel, or just aren't feeling up to it.

I agree with Kelly -- let's set a meeting place and time before the race for the photo.

Is it too late to get a shirt before Sunday?

ALso the Cherry Cricket is always a good post race spot. Great beer selection (including PBR on tap I believe) and the best burgers in town.
