I'm in for the full.  Let me know how the donations will work and I'd be happy to send an email out to solicit some pledges.

I'll be there running the full with rmarzano. I'll see what I can do too.

I have 2 good friends who are both fundraisers for nonprofits.  I sent them both messages last week, but I've been on vacation since Thursday.  When I get back to town I'll follow up.  And I think the T-shirts are a great idea.  The only people I know who do great t-shirts are the guys and gal @ Without Limits- they have the coolest event t-shirts I know.  I'll send a message to Lance and see who does his.  Maybe they can help us out on that angle.  I'm sure we'd need to order a large bulk to keep the price down, so spread the word.

Hey Crew!Love the teamwork!

"Team Dime", aka me, Greg, Drew (Drewulu), Lilia (devotchkatata), Ted, and Vik (sgtvik) have several large fundraisers in the works, following the swim race. There is a benefit concert already finalized in Vail on 10/17/09. We are working with Bicycle Colorado on a ride, and City 'o City and Lodo's are working with us as well. Table 6 is auctioning off a $500 bottle of wine for the cause. Also, we have at least two shirts for fundraising. One is finished for buds running the Colorado Relay and we are buying 100 shirts this week.

One reason for the post is that I am politely asking that all fundraising efforts go directly through "Team Dime" as we are officially handling Richard's legal and medical affairs, his paypal donations account and every other important detail pertaining to him. Please PM me, as we need people to sign up as volunteers for upcoming events and to add to a list of caregivers for post release help for Richard, whenever that happens.
Events are being posted here: http://www.dickdime.info/events.html

THANKS!!!

Thank you Zev. That was the plan all along, to go through Team Dime. Just wondering if there is any way to tell what the marathon fundraisers raise, not that it's a competition or that by raising more money it makes us better or proves that we care about Dime more than other people. It would be nice to know though. As per shirts, I would be more than happy to where whatever Lillia came up with. Thanks for your continued hard work.

Hey Zev, likewise- I just wanted some help from friends on raising funds, I wasn't planning on starting my own fund
Glad to hear about the t-shirts, you can put me down for a XXL if you've got one.
As for the relay, so far we've got me, Kathleen, and Steve.  Anyone willing to be our 4th?

Can anyone tell me about the Table 6 wine bottle thing?  Is it a raffle?  Their website doesn't mention anything.  Do you have to go to the restaurant?

THANKS!

I called, they'll sell you tickets over the phone. My wife and I ate there a few years back, their food is remarkable. It's pretty $$$$, but for a special occasion it's wonderful. Regardless, if you call them they'll take your credit card over the phone and enter you. That's like a $500 bottle of wine, too. Nice stuff!

Hey Matt and Steve,
Do we know who is doing what distance so far? If we can narrow that down a bit then we can ask for a fourth who is up for doing whatever distance remains. I am good for the 4.1 or 6 mile and could do the 7 mile if needed but I am not up to 9 miles (yet) in my running and I doubt it would be very pretty

Just want to make sure I understand this correctly.  If we want to use Denver for Dime as a fundraiser, we compose our own email asking people to make their donations through the DickDime website.  If we want to wear a shirt, we order it from devotchkatata.  Is that right?

As for the fundraising effort, we have a specific account at 1st Bank of Denver and the account is titled: "Donations for Dime – Richard Paradis"  The Paypal account is tied into this so the easiest path is to link to the donations page, or if need be, Team Dime will set up a new webpage or website for a major event.  Our group will try to make sure that everything is clear here. Sorry, it's been a very stressful and hectic few weeks dealing with all of Richard's needs.

Lilia will be shipping t-shirts for orders that we expect to start taking as soon as possible. Likely there will be a button on the website as soon as we can get that done. I'll ask Lilia to chime in here as well, as she is the t-shirt queen!

Thanks again for your help at the swim event and here on the board. We would be happy to gain any knowledge or advice your pro fund raising friends can offer us!  The t-shirt ordering process will be announced, and happening asap.

OMG!!! I am so excited about all of this! Thank you so much for being involved, everyone! This is truly touching...

I was planning on coming out to Denver that weekend anyway. What the heck, I guess I'll run the marathon. After the fundraiser concert in Vail the night before. One week after Kona. No personal records there. Ha ha! But it will be fun!

Really excited about all the interest around the shirts. If you want to just PM me your size, I'll compile the preliminary order list for now. I'll update the site with the order button and the merch page as soon as I have the final proof. You can see my blog today for the prototype.

GO TEAM DIME!

ffstock started the relay notion, I just heard back from him - he's been very busy.
My current plan calls for my long weekend run to be 8 miles, so I'll do the 7 or the 9, either way...

I'd love to come and cheer you guys on and maybe I could even push a wheelchair for a relay portion...  So count me in at least in spirit.

Ok, I'm in for the relay.  Been a bit busy of late with sick kids and website hell.  Anywho, I'm good for pretty much any leg but would rather not do the 9 miler right now.  That may change depending on my hip...

Saw the shirts today, look friggin' awesome!

Thank God for Todd- that'll be our sub-moniker.  LOL.  I'm up for a long run too, I'm really excited to do this.   Since it'll be more than a month after RedMan (where I'm running a 1/2 anyway) I think I'll be OK.  Definitely not a land speed record, but I love a big challenge.  Who wants to handle our registration?  Maybe we should take this offline, too????  I think you all know my e-mail address....

Heh I've been away from BT and just heard the news. I'm already doing the Denver Half. I saw the web site so I'll put some bucks up, and wear a shirt if there's any left.

My best to Richard and Julia....

I'm thinking of coming out and volunteering with Stacie. I probably won't be able to run as I've thoroughly thrashed my only good knee doing Ironman this weekend. I will probably have to have it scoped. If I'm not ambulatory, I'd be willing to try a wheel chair option too!

As a relay.
