Pre-race routine:

Had Whole Wheat Toast with Peanut Butter and a bowl of oatmeal around 8 AM. The race was at 10AM and started about 5 minutes late.
Event warmup:

Shuffled up to the start line about 1/3 of a mile from my car. Stretched a bit.
Run
  • 37m 7s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 11m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

I finished my 5K in 38:17 according to my watch. Though the official time is 37:07 which puts me sub 12 MM, cool (but I don't believe it, but it's official)

Even my own time is over 10 minutes faster then my last 5K race in June which was a pancake flat course and this one had several hills and one big long hill just after theone mile mark. My goal was under 40 minutes so I'm happy. In my September sprint tris I ran 45:00 and 46:00 on flat courses. Hopefully I can drop a few more minutes off my run time by the summer. Close to 10 MM would be cool!

My Official Time:
243 Lisa Osta White Plains NY 68 51 12 F 50-59 37:10.0 11:59/M
(I think it's wrong)

On top I wore 2 layers of nike drifit (purple) over which my red zoot jacket that I unzipped after the first mile for the first 8 or so minutes I wore zoot gloves and icebreaker wool headband.. I also wore my fuel belt with one bottle, a camera and keys in the pockets. For bottoms I wore Nike drifit tights, smartwool socks and Nike Lunar Glide+ shoes.

What would you do differently?:

nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Just walked around and ate at the outdoor lodge tried to stay in the sun to keep warm.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My weight, but it's getting better.

Event comments:

Nice little race, about 250-300 people I think. Taconic Road Runners had a nice spread of bagels, oatmeal, cookies and hot drinks after at the lodge.
