My BT user account was created 5 years ago today. I thought it would be fitting to write a BT Race Report, of sorts, for this endurance achievement.

I have 11,570 posts! I slowed down my pace considerably from what it was about 3 years ago (thank gawd). 65% of my posts are in CoJ; 14% are in Triathlon Talk. I've created 616 threads and 44 polls. My favorite forum is Race Reports - I love reading race reports on a Monday morning.  I was the 1st to reach BT Champion status; then I got to custom rank level (see Buttercup).

I remember ... the original Boys v Girls Bike challenge and Kim's awesome profile pic, the assatar that started it all. I remember noobs asking in a disconcerted manner why there were so many male assatars (boys lost the Boys v Girls Swim challenge - that was the price they had to pay, much to the ladies' delight).

I remember the original Confessions thread and I probably contributed to it getting out of hand (Ssshh baby, don't talk). I remember the genesis of 'changing your own tire' and was happy to see it die an overdue death; it was replaced by Master of Your Domain and replaced again by RIOW - triathletes can be single-minded in their pursuits.

I won the Smacktalkingest of the Smacktalkers poll.

Marmadaddy once held the rank of Renee.

I miss FishrCutB8's What I Learned this Week and run4yrlife's Ask Jim posts (I had no idea vicodin had so many uses). I'm glad we still have Poetry Thursday. I remember CoJ-before-TAN; I have never posted in a TAN. The Terry Schiavo thread was epic. I think we've had about 457 threads about gay marriage (*sigh*).

I have saved PM's going back to 2006. Some very kind people have sent me very kind messages; sometimes I read them when I'm having a bad day.

I have broken up with BT a few times. Three. Maybe four times. This has been my favorite iteration so far.

I've seen Death take a few BTers.

I've met Ron!

BT is special. The training log is awesome. I'm glad to be here (again).

That is all.

Funny, the other night I was thinking about the words we were using to test the filters. We were like velociraptors testing the electrified fence in Jurassic Park ... but different.

I was not an original Hoss Chick (wasn't in the B v G Bike Challenge). I did enjoy the assatars that came out of the B v G Swim Challenge. Distinctly remember Madcow's red jammers and Gullah's, too. Oh ... the guy in the Speedo ... vortmax!! Good times, good times. Motivated was pleading for us to release the boys from their assatar obligations - no way!

I echo TedTrendy - more assatars! Been a loooong time since we had a proper, smacktalking Challenge of Boys v Girls.

Really cool post, Renee. It helps us see the human side of BT a little more clearly.

I would say congratulations but I think thank you is more appropriate. You make a great contribution to this site.

I love milestones
when they cruise by like this,
a bit of breeze that makes you
breathe a little deeper
and be glad for the world.
On a July climb up some
anonymous mountain when they pass
like kidney stones, not so much.

Happy cinqtenial!

Renee, I had to come to you after the swim challenge to validate my assatar as legal per guidelines.  Not legal due to smuttiness pigs, I think due to the distance of the photo or something mundane.  Anyway, you were gracious and we had a nice back and forth exchange with a couple of chuckles.   Which was cool because I was new-ish to BT.  Thank you.

And yes, for those of you that know me, not only DID I swim, but participated in a swim challenge back in the day.  Yea, I was young and stupid then.

This made me check my account creation date as well.  April 20th 2005  , still a few more weeks till I pop the cork.

Looking back, that swim challage was fun !   Sadly today I need to train more and race more often.
