ME!

Litchfield Sprint in the Park... my first tri since IMAZ last November - - and this is a mini-sprint (300yd, 8.4, 2)... should be quite a difference!

Who else is towing the starting line?

Belews Lake Triathlon.  Greensboro, NC area.  Sprint distance.  488 in the field.  Time trial swim start.  I go in the water after 80% of the field.  Pitiful.  First OWS; first full sprint distance; first race with aero bars.

DFL > DNF > DNS > DNT.

And of course, HTFU.

Doing the Santa Barbara Chardonnay 10 Miler this weekend with my girlfriend. Not really going to race it as I want to run with her and help her achieve the pace for her goal. Should be fun!

Haystack TT in Boulder, CO. Saturday. 16.5 miles. Bring the pain.

That is such a fun ride. Last year, we did it as a TTT. I was our #3 strongest guy, and we started with five. #2 flatted less than a minute in, #1's legs were cramping, and so I pulled the whole way. Literally, the whole way. Needless to say, we did not do well... but we still beat some teams. A teammate won Cat 5 by a landslide.

I'll be racing Collegiate Nats in Lubbock. At this point, no expectations - just praying everything goes well.

I will be racing for the first time since November.  The Albuquerque Half Marathon but I have chosen to do the 10k and not the half.  Why?  Because this will be my 3rd year of racing and I have never gotten on the podium.  All the 'real' runners will be running the half leaving the door open for me to actually have a shot at finishing a race in the top 3.  Is that sandbagging?  Will it be an empty victory?  No way!  I still have to show up and race whoever else shows up and let the chips fall where they may.

First race of the year, chance to podium,  I AM STOKED!

I'm on Sat. at the Parris Mountain triathlon, SC. Strange distances 500 m swim, 20 mile bike with a 1000' climb in the middle followed by a 5 mile 700 ft climb on foot. Excited but nervous. They also have a bizarre t-shirt policy.

"EVENT T-SHIRTS
This event will be unique in that you will not get your event t-shirt until you cross the finish line.  The event shirt will say FINISHER across the back.  Any shirts not given out at the finish line to event finishers will be destroyed so only those who completed the event will be able to wear the 2010 Finisher Shirts."

ME!  Belews Lake Sprint in NC.   Last minute tune up for HIM in two weeks.  Surprisingly this little OWS sprint has 500 registered.  Guess everyone is looking to get some wetsuit practice in before HIM season here in the Carolinas.

I'm in for the Rumpus in Bumpass Sprint on Sunday. First wetsuit swim, but I've done this exact course before during Giant Acorn 2009. Hoping for some real improvement! Good luck to all!

Super nervous and in so much denial about the swim that I havn't swum at all this week. I figured it was too late for an epiphany and why torture myself in the week before....
