I can tell you nothing made me happier than walking away from packet pick up yesterday without a swim cap and swim wave assignment. Now must just keep the nerves at bay! All the grassy fields that have been used for parking in the past are so soggy that organizers are scrambling to figure out where to have people park and how to get them to the race site. I'm excited, but also bummed that I hurt myself last weekend and have not been able to swim, bike or run all week. It may turn into a float, ride, walk... but I think I'll be OK by tomorrow (some kind of muscle strain in my side/abs area). i was talking to my 8yo daughter (who is doing her 2nd tri on Sunday) about it while we were doing some transition practice in the backyard this week. Me: My side really hurts, I don't know if I'll be able to run at all during my race. Her: That's OK dad, you'll still finish ahead of all the people that don't even start! smart kid.  |

Air temp will be in the 40's/50's at race time. At least the forecast calls for sun. After the spring we had here, I'll take it. |

I raced last weekend (1st tri) and had similar conditions. I hope you get just enough of a break in the weather to enjoy the race without any weather issues. I think next year I'll start my tri season a bit later which will give me more time to train for longer distances and better weather come race day. |
