I spend a lot of time on one path both biking and running.  Here's a view of some of the pretty stuff that grows in the summer and also one from a February ride.

Nice winter touring bike! Is that a Surly? Fenders?

This isn't local, but we've already got one picture of Kansas fields.

Bonus points for the first one to guess what state these pics were taken in.

I've seen areas like this in Eastern Oregon

You should ride through the 3rd Ward and take some pictures.  I hope you're a fast rider.  Wink

1.  Flat
2.  Farms
3.  Boring
4.  No Hills
5.  No Shoulders
6.  No Turns
7.  Flat

Rode the Copper Triangle Sunday: 81 miles, 3 mtn passes.  Wish I had taken my camera -- it was beautiful!  Got this off the internet -- we went over that bridge and the views are great from the middle.

I often ride the Santa Ana River Trail here in SoCal.  It's a long paved bike path that stretches from the ocean at Huntington Beach all the way inland to Corona, and after a break there, continues on to Riverside.  Even though it doesn't feature majestic views, it has its own charm:

Palouse?

Well the right state (for the most part), but the pictures were from further west in Washington than would typically be considered The Palouse.

I took them while riding on my brother's mountain bike just north of my home town of Quincy while on vacation last summer. Not exactly what most people think of when they hear Washington State.

these are some typical roads about 5 miles from my house. The roads to them are somewhere, tree-y, doesn't photograph well, but picture this road with trees on the side...

Cycling from Glasgow to Loch Lomond (yes, that Loch Lomond)

Different ride, from Glasgow to Edinburgh. The Forth bridges are in the background

Run route: bird's view of Kelvingrove park

Boy, if ever there was a thread that would make me want to get the he11 out of Chi-town, I think this is it!

Absolutely beautiful!

Now, I am a little sad! (Not really...just kind of thinking I should have "gone for it" and moved to AZ when I wanted to 10 years ago!)

The Liberty Lake County Park is one of my favorite places to run.  Lots of single track trails with lots of hills.

Lil from column A, lil from column B. Had to take the (very terrifying) tunnel underneath the Clyde to get on the path, followed the bike path up past Bowling, but then had to jump onto the motorway as the path gets not so nice after that and ride up, and then subsequently down, the Vale of Leven into Balloch, which is the lovely wee resort town that services most of the Loch visitors.

Bike (but not go) to Work Day ride:

Started in Idaho Springs and headed up Berthoud Pass.

Looking back down at the road we came up.  Pine Beetle infestation is really bad up here.

Made it to the top!

The road down the other side to Winter Park for lunch.

Seemingly eye to eye w/ the peaks on the Continental Divide.

I have been wanting to start this thread up for some time and I hope it gets legs...

Every area has it's own beauty (even Las Vegas!).  Let's see some of your local ride/runs.  It may help give ideas to people if they ever visit!

I hope you play along and I will go first...

Pics from my typical day to day ride!

Heading out of town toward Red Rock Park.

Almost to the Park and Scenic loop.

IN the park and how it got it's namesake - the Red Rocks.

Me at the scenic overlook.  It may not look like it, but it's a climb to get here.  3000 vert from my house.  Behind my fat head is the Las Vegas Valley!  You can't see the strip as it's behind the red rocks at the left of the picture.

The fast descent out of the park!

It is a nice ride too bad it is going to be over 100 all week.
