rest day and test day.  Up cramming for a test this afternoon in my last class of all places.  My body is telling me I need a rest and then it usually demands one if I don't listen.  "I HEAR YOU AND I AM RESTING!"  how's that?

So who's doing what today?

Hey Ellen... good luck on your test today.

I am doing a 10 mile bike indoors this morning and have a hill workout with my running club this evening.

Shoulders, back, and bicept weights. Then an hour in spinning class.

Tomorrow I am swimming 15 x 100m intervals. Then I have fly 7 hours, then I will run 6k from the hangar back to my barracks.

I plan on having an ambulance follow me the whole way home.

It's raining and with temps in the 30's I'll be at the club for some bike trainer work and weights. Gonna rest my sore heel for a week or so and cut back on the running. I need to let it recover for a big race in May.

30 or so minutes on the treadmill and then an hour of Pilates. I missed Pilates last week (class canceled) so I'm looking forward to it tonight.

Good luck on the test Ellen. I'd go back to school, but I think my brain is on the downhill side.

Swim 1/4 mile with my eyes closed for part of the time, and trying to look upward for the buoy. How's that for training? Basically took it easy because of hard day yesterday.
One hour pilates -- great class.

Today's plan:

yoga, focusing on back-bending flexibility (cycling and swimming are NOT doing good things for my flexibility) -done!
if I can get away at noon, I'll swim; this will make the latter part of the week easier to schedule -but it may not happen
step class tonight

Back in the saddle again! Woo Hoo. I've decided yesterday needed a do over so I've erased it! Today was my official return and it was lovely. New PB on the run 1-mile 13:05! Woo Hoo. Then 1hr spin class and a quick splash in the pool for 800 m at 18:03. Back to the gym tonight for weightlifting and more swimming. Yeahhhhh! Feeling good! Looking good!

Pouring out- so ran inside 4.5 miles on the treadmill- had to play head games to get thru it- some days are like that ...then swim practice- unfortunately picked a REALLY bad time for the pool- crowded - had to share a lane w/ 2 others - not a good setting for working slowly & carefully on drills- stayed about a half hour- ...hope to maybe sneak back tonight ...hard to do with everyone else's agenda..these families and jobs DO compete for attention with training...lol info steward- sounds like you are having a GREAT day- good for you !

Off to the pool tonight. I need to fit in the 700 yard swim that I missed on Sunday due the pool being closed for Easter. Plus I've been eating too many jelly beans today (oops)

I'm back at it, with less volume this week. It is pouring buckets and cold out, so I ran indoors at the Y for 33 minutes. Don't feel totally wiped out, but I'm not back to normal either. I will take this as a good sign, though. Not missing out on anything exciting like outdoor bike rides because it is going to rain all week! What a drag!

Bike rollers: thingies (it's a technical term) that convert your regular bike into a stationary bike for indoor training purposes. You could, of course, just go to the gym and use the exercise bikes. But the benefit of trainers/rollers, is that you're working out on your very own bike. In fact, our gym has trainers and you bring your own bike inside and they'll set it up for you.
