Every time I go out running I see something cool or interesting. This morning was a banner morning! I haven't been able to decide yet if the best was:

1) The duck family that decided I was in their territory and chased me out, quacking.
2) The squirrels who kept darting into the path expecting to be fed/adored (Hermann Park is famous for its squirrels)
3) or the rasta dude on the modded surfboard (a bike wheel in front and a bike wheel in back), standing up, using a paddle to push himself down the street --- and flying along!

So, what was yours?

Saw two deer in the yard of my neighbor before starting my run.  I live in a crowded neighborhood (i.e. each lot is 1/3 of an acre or less) so the deer were less than 30 feet from me.  It was cool but it also freaked me out as it was completely unexpected.

I saw the Queen of England while on my bike today. Well, mostly I saw her humongous hat.

I would have preferred the deer.

Not today but Sunday.  Mile 8 of my 12 mile run.  A glance down at the trail I was on, to see a 1 inch baby turtle making his way from one side to the other.  He surely would've been crushed by- 1) me or 2) another runner or cyclist - had I not stopped my run and urged him gently to his destination.

Do you live down the street from me? LOL

I went for a run yesterday morning and got stopped in my tracks. Two very large antlered bucks were standing in the middle of the road staring me down about 15 yards away.. I live in a crowded neighborhood as well, but the backside of the neigborhood is all mountain side. It's not uncommon to see deer but it is uncommon to see trophy deer.

Yesterday evening my wife and I were on a short run and had a very young red fox run out in the street, stop and stare at us.  Then it slowly trot off in the woods.

This morning I saw the beaming smile of a girl who at last summer's CC summer training couldn't run one mile without stopping. Today she ran three.

We also saw a small herd of antelope in our beautful desert mountains.  Kids were too tired to care, but I made sure I pointed them out to everyone!

ETA:  great thread to the OP!  I'm always seeing awesome things when I run, that's part of why I love it so much...I count lizards VS horny toads (lizards usually win, horny toads blend in too well), antelope, and if I'm lucky 4 desert big horn sheep that have been hanging around an area called Three Mile.  Saw them mountain biking the other day and almost fell off my bike I was so excited to actually see them!

Part of my route goes through the golf course (designated runner's trail) and I've been seeing a lot of migratory birds, which is awesome. Egrets, herons, songbirds (and attack ducks).

I'm doing 99% of my running on a treadmill at the moment, so it would have to be the co-ed in spandex that looked like it was designed by Victoria's Secret on the floor below.

It is truly amazing and genuinely amusing to watch the reactions of males in a gym when a pretty girl appears...

I saw a snake slither back into the weeds at the side of the road right in front of me on Sunday's ride.  That was cool.

This is always cool.

It is still dark for most of my runs, so I hear more than I see.  This morning I left a little late and saw a beautiful sunrise.

On my Sunday bike ride, I saw several deer (including two fawns), three jack rabbits, and almost ran over a freaky looking walking stick.

I love running/biking in the high desert.. I was paced once by a dust devil (about a hundred yards off) but it looked so cool!

I see you've given up on the puking for a much better reward!

This is always cool.

I live in the Caribbean and see lots of water critters and am pretty good at recognizing them... can't figure out what this is. Looks too long to be a ray. Shark maybe? Don't see any fins though.

Two dogs in the middle of the road "stuck" together at a 90 degree angle from each other. Quite amusing!

I saw a bunch of little kids swim some of their first full laps our outdoor pool today.  It was super cool to see them explode with pride when they got out of the lap lane.

Bats.  I see them every morning at 4:30 chasing the bugs around the street lights.  Love them.

Maybe not all that cool, but...

A dryer sheet suspended in the water in the pool.

Took me several laps to figure out what it was.

On my drive to the Ringling Bridge for a hill workout, I was mooned.  The funniest part was there was a real full moon that night, so every time I looked up, I had to laugh.

Sorry, no pictures.

The fog rising up off the prairie, since it was unseasonably cool this morning.
As we rode, the almost full moon was rising higher in the morning sky.
As the fog was clearing, we saw a doe and three fawns along the side of the trail, in addition to many bunnies.

Got chased around by a bunch or turkeys during my long run this morning.  And for those who have never encountered them other than on the Thanksgiving table - they're big and mean and pretty aggressive!

What do you call a bunch of turkeys?  Gaggle? Flock?  Herd?
