Pre-race routine:

had my everyday breakfast of pbj bagel and diet mnt dew :) Grabbed a latte on the way to the race site too!
Event warmup:

nothing- waited for the lightening and rain and wind to pass so we could start on time!!
Stayed in the car and didnt even set up transition til the rain stopped- I mean who wants wet stuff if they dont need to have wet stuff??
Saw my garmin was about dead so went without knowing my time!! Goal was 2:30.. ha came pretty close- huh?!
Swim
  • 31m 30s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 55s / 100 yards
Comments:

Damn... I am just not a swimmer. I need to swim ore- but even when I do swim more I dont feel like I get any faster. Used to say ot was over rated but if I could have placed higher in the swim- I could be walking away with cash :) damn.
Swim went fine anyways- wore my sleeveless... its a little more comfortable for me.
Sighted OK- just never really pushed hard.
The girl who placed ahead of me beat me by 8 minutes in the swim- no lie 8 minutes.... damn... I almost caught her though!
What would you do differently?:

need we ask?
Transition 1
  • 01m 33s
Comments:

2cnd fastest transition. Good I guess.
What would you do differently?:

nothing.
Bike
  • 1h 09m 52s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 21.34 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt good out there... course was pretty fast. I jujst wasnt pushing the watss I should have been- too bad if I would have been pushing threshold Id have been at 22 easy!
No chics passed me which is always good.
Was kind of weid we got back to transition and were only at 15 miles...was alittle confused- but i think our 2cnd loop was the sprint loop??
At this time my bike was making a weird noise- it sounded like I had a flat... but I was still going fast and it didnt look like it. I speed up to this older guy and asked him if he heard that noise on my bike and if I had a flat... he looked and says- " no- looks like you have a race sticker stuck to your back tire" uh.... hmmmm..oh well.... I ignore it and after a few miles it falls off... good I feel much better!
Last mile was fun... yeesh it was like a long downhill slope...ha- love it.
# 1 bike split in AG :) Only like 2-3 minutes behind Lauren Jensen- ha I think I can take her!
What would you do differently?:

push threshold. I need to be there for this distance! I was at 187 watts.... should be at 200 at least.
Transition 2
  • 01m 22s
Comments:

3rd fastest T2. Works for me. Did drop my PT computer and had to stop and grab it...how that fell off I have no clue.
Run
  • 45m 42s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 22s  min/mile
Comments:

Got my legs back pretty quick. Had no garmin so had no idea of pace or hr- probaly agood thing:) Some guys says- woah thats a pretty fast pace.. i said- "yep- thats how I roll" lol... did make me rethink my pace! But I felt good and was passing people so just tried to hold on. Flat course and you got to see some people so that was fun!
Once again no girls passed me- love it.
This was a solid run for me esp after the bike! Ill take it:)
Started to rain with less then .5 miles to go- kind of felt good.
#2 run split in AG. Was less then 2 minutes behind Lauren Jensen...why is it fun to compare?? I dont know!!
What would you do differently?:

dont know- at times i felt like I could have been pushing harder but didnt cua I didnt want to fade. think it turned out OK
Post race
Warm down:

went under the tent to stay dry!
Chris showed me his watch and it said 2:29:58.... HA- love it... nothing like cutting it close:)

Stayed to get AG awars and win the bike that was given away...but damn i didnt win it...meh

Event comments:

I liked the course and will probaly go back to do it faster!

2:29:58 was the "official time", not sure what kind of issues those timing people had that added an extra second. Your bike is dialed in. Your Run is progressing well. Your Transitions are great, not autographs this time to slow you down. Your swim, um.. 'Nuff Said...

Supergirl is on her comeback.. Nice to see things start to work out...

Nice Race Tammy!  Still can't believe you got bragging rights by :07 seconds over me but nice job.  I knew you wanted 2:30 and when I still saw your bike when I came out of the water in T1 I thought that you better push it.  When I saw your bike was still gone when I hit T2 I really thought you better push it.  When you passed me on the run at mile 2 I knew you were pushing it!

Nice race...nice pace to your goal.  Now like we agreed, I will swim for you, you gotta run for me!!

Great job out there.  I would say you could cut it a little closer to goal time next time if you wanted though.

So your race advice to others is 'just ignore it and after a few miles it will fall off.' Got it. Words to live by. Looks like the Taminator has become the Dominator! Great race.

You must have a built in Garmin in your head or something.   How could you hit your exact goal without even knowing your speed/pace etc?

You were so focused before the start.  You blocked everything else out.    learned something from that.

Really good job out there.
