Okay, Six Gaps this year falls on September 26th - the day after USAT AG Nationals in Tuscaloosa and the same day as the Augusta 70.3.  Being a glutton for punishment I am thinking of doing AG Nationals on Saturday and then drive back after the race to do Six Gaps the next day.

Who else is in for Six Gaps?

Just sayin...

Yes.  Guess I better refer all requests to that "meanie coach" above Dan.  He is in charge.

Although that sounds like a painful ride and I know he likes for me to be in pain...hahaha

Ummmmmm yeah - there is no way in hell you're gonna be doing 6 Gaps century week or so before KONA!  Where is your brain even if your coah let you which I know he won't!  Aren't you paying bucu dollars to train and get there and race?  Don't you wanna feel good?  Forget about how hard this century is - there is a huge risk of falling on the descents!  Cool

Okay, since the original post things have changed ... well, insomuch asI haven't been training, they have changed.  I am skipping the USAT AG Nationals as it involves swimming and running and will instead enjoy Six Gaps as a sufferfest for the undertrained (haven't swam or ran nor rode past 60 miles once since IM CdA in June).

I know Brett changed his mind to do Augusta but who else is in for the fun? ETA: Let us know if you are doing the Three Gap Fifty or the Six Gap Century?

pancake flat.  you will probably average 19-21 mph and stay in z2 the entire time.

I'm in for 104.  I have not been riding much this year though.  I have only ridden just over 1000 miles for the year.  So doing 10% of that in one day in the mountains and it being my first century this year should be interesting.

Neal, hit me up if you see me. I'll be in Team Hammer gear (me and probably like 200+ other folks) and on a black Trek roadie with aerobars. I'll probably be tackling Brasstown again in Nov if you're interested in a private SAG'd sufferfest

I will look for you, however I can probably make it easer for you to spot me.  I will wear my "Cookie Monster" jersey.  The black Trek should make picking you out among the Team Hammer peopleeasier though.  I will be on a red and black Giant.

I am interested in doing Brasstown again.  My only issue is that I have been staying almost every weekend with my Dad since Mom died, but I can probably work it out.  Hope to see you there.

The temperature for Sunday is looking great: high in the 70's ... the only problem could be the 40% chance of showers.  If it rains while on Woody or up to Brasstown then I am thinking that I'll just turn around and do Three Gaps.

If it rains after that ... then let's just say that the descent down Hogpen will be interesting.

So this will be my first 3 Gaps ride.  It hit me last night that I might want to bring some nutrition (duh!) but don't have a clue how much.  I know that nutrition is personal but what do others bring?
