It's probably looking for a mate and just interested in a movie.

I like the chart that shows the age range most often attacked.  It appears I am beyond the "tasty" range.  LOL

If people ever found out how often they were actually in close proximity with sharks while swimming, the beaches would be empty.  At least here in South Florida.    I see them all the time and respect there space.   Fact is chances are rediculously low and way too low not to enjoy what the coast has to offer.    Now for those on the west coast, I have to admit the great whites are a bit more compelling of a scare than many of the types over here.   Fatalities are very rare among victims on the Southeast.    While the fact of losing a limb to a great white is considered fortunate 

I have a deathly fear and disgust of geckoes, so I'm trying to understand. Then again, they're everywhere here, and I don't go hide out in the water to avoid them.

You'll be fine ... breathe, relax, think happy thoughts.

I admit I was rather startled to see a beautifully marked black tan and white triangular fin cruising alongside me on an OWS a few months ago ... and then I was like, hey, pretty fin! It was gone pretty fast ... I think I scared it. I may have had the Labradogs in tow, too, so we were making quite a ruckus.

Not all sharks are hongry....

considering the amount of whites off the coast of california.. chances are they've seen you plenty times

If you swim in the ocean, the chances are 100% that you've been closer than 5 miles form a shark

The trick is to be able to tell which ones are!

Getting attacked by a shark are along the same odds as winning the lottery. Just remember, someone always wins the lottery. Happy swimming!

I can't stop laughing...but I'm not swimming in the ocean!  This makes fear of snapping turtles and snakes in the lakes seem like nothing!

That's the same thing they told Sherrif Brode....

Relax -- your odds of being attacked by a shark are lower than getting struck by lightning.

But then again, if you get struck by lightning before tomorrow morning, you might want to rethink that swim...

Someone said 'do not swim around seals??"  I am the only one wearing a black wetsuit looking like a seal???

You shouldn't swim around seals because some of them are mean and will leave a very nasty bite. Some of them are nice and will leave a very nasty play-bite.

The odds of this happening are far better than a shark bite. There's even a name for a super yucko infection people get after being bitten by seals: Seal Finger.

my fav fact is you are more likely to get bitten by a New-Yorker than a shark.
