At first people tend to give it a bit of an "um, weird" response, but mashed potato pizza rules.  Put mashed potatoes on a pre-made crust like a Boboli one, and then add bacon pieces, and some grated cheddar cheese and bake it.  When it comes out of the oven, throw on some scallions and sour cream.

gir1with1nose - 2010-09-21 1:18 PM cottage cheese and tomatoes

I used to eat a bagel scooped out, filled w cottage cheese and topped w tomatoes. That's not weird - that's healthy!

I grew up on oatmeal w peanut butter, courtesy of my dad.  I've turned so many people on to that mixture it is the bomb-diggity!  My dad also got us into French Toast topped w sour cream and maple syrup.  I used to eat it that way, but I don't buy sour cream and never make french toast anymore but it was good and worth trying.

I'm seeing peanut butter as the new bacon here.

With which I -- who routinely consume smoothies of peanut butter, soymilk, coffee, protein powder, and bananas -- am pleased

Tried the PB/hamburger combo tonight.  Not so bad!  I'd still rather use mustard or avocado or blue cheese, tho.

I knew a guy at work who would pull out a piece of bologna, dip it in a ton of peanut butter and just eat it.  Just looked disgusting.

My dad introduced us to cottage cheese and potato chips. Just dip the chip in the cheese and enjoy!! Most people think it's gross until they try it. You gotta get the right cottage cheese, though - 4% milk curd is ideal.

My dad used to bring it as an appetizer to parties. People laughed until they tried it, then he wasn't the only one any more.

Also, pulled-pork barbecue omlette

I could found an entire religion based on this this!!

two more:

Pineapple and ham on pizza, some people are still disbelievers
and
Lettuce, tomato, and dill pickles w/ mayo on whole wheat. As un-vegetarian as I am, this is a great sandwich.

Fry up one can of tuna with an egg as if you were making scrambled eggs.
Put inside toasted Pita breat with cheese.

Saying it makes people say eeew.. tasting it makes people say Yum!

Thanks.  This post made me fry up some tuna with eggs this morning.  Just ate it with a little Rooster sauce.  It was pretty good too.

I didn't have a clean plate, so I made a salad on top of the plate that had the leftover crumblets of approximately 1,000 Pop tarts.

Way. Beyond. Croutons. Oh. So. Yummers.

4.  This is actually a cool one:  Take a box of cake mix (just regular Dunkin Hines or similar).  Follow instructions but omit all oil and all eggs.  Replace with a can of pumpkin.  You cannot taste the pumpkin at all and it's 1000x more moist than the egg and oil method.  Better for you too.

I tried this with Trader Joe's cornbread mix last night.  It was amazing!

I don't think this is at all weird to pair these ingredients, but I've never seen it on a menu or as a snack.

Rice cake with honey drizzled on it (substitute blueberry preserves if you wish), with a thick layer of almond butter. Sliced bananas to top it off.

My friend, Annabanana, thinks I should finish it off with dark chocolate chips. I will have to try that.

Delicious with a cup of coffee.

My former landlady used to eat a sandwich that had thick slices of navel orange, a thin slice of red onion mayo, salt and pepper on pumpernickle bread. I had one once and it was kind of ok. Better than I expected, for sure.

Other things that go well with oatmeal: 1) caramelized white chocolate or 2) sharp cheddar cheese and a glug of olive oil. I wouldn't try them all together, but you never know...

Also: sea urchin on pasta carbonara. For serious.
