Suggest some good ones, if you can...

Good swimming movies
Good cycling
Good running
Good triathlon ????

What's crazy, I still don't think I ever saw "breaking away".

If "Prefontaine" cant inspire you to go out and run nothing can. One of my all time favorites. There are two versions, both are equally as good.

Breaking Away is a classic. It’s not exactly a “cycling” movie, per se, but cycling figures prominently in it.

I DVR everything with Ironman or Triathlon in it.

IM CdA is watched at least bi-weekly.

I do that with Triathlon. I'll have to add Ironman.

"The Distance of Truth" is a really good ultra running movie.

I thought that "The Flying Scotsman" was excellent as well.

I really need to see the Prefontaine movies myself!

I'll second the above recs for "American Flyers" and "The Distance."  Also like "What It Takes."  They are all on my short list for time on the bike trainer.

I hear there's a documentary of the popular Hood to Coast race coming out next year.

Also, I once watched a documentary on Badwater - maybe circa 1995? Gnarly.

It's called Running on the Sun.  It's a great watch!  It's from 2000.

I will also add Race Across the Sky - it's about the 2009 Leadville 100.

I also loving watching DVR'ed old Kona coverage.

I thought the Flying Scotsman was SO depressing!

My faves are American Flyers and Breaking Away for cycling.  On a Clear Day for swimming - LOVE the cast in this flick.

Completely corny but love Vision Quest for motivation.

It's on Netflix as an instant play.  Watch it on your computer at work.

Wait, did I say that outloud?

On a Clear Day is pretty good.  If you want to talk about a dark movie about running, check out "The Lonelinesss of a Long Distance Runner".

Saint Ralph is a little far-fetched, but interesting.  Netflix instant - so you don't waste money if it's not your thing.

BTW - The movie "Swimming" is way off topic for this thread.  I saw the title on Netflix and started to read about it.  Not at all aboiut swimming, it turns out.

Yeah, Vision Quest is definitely NOT an s/b/r movie, but... As you said, great for motivation. As is Rudy.

It's a documentary on Fred Lebow and the origins of the NYC marathon.  It's streaming on Netflix.
