Subject: "Work off the Turkey" Sat. Nov. 27 ride
Is there any interest in getting together for a ride on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend (November 27?)  I'm thinking of a ride starting and ending at Tumbleweed Park in Chandler with tailgating in the park afterwards.

Please indicate if you'd be interested in such a ride and the length of ride you'd favor. If there's enough interest, I'll post a route and more details.

Thanks!

Wow, Kim! You don't quit, do you? So soon after IMAZ? Trust me, next year after IMAZ I'll be pigging out and relaxing on that Saturday!

But I'll be around, and I can do a good 90 minute ride that Saturday if anyone else is interested.

I will be training for Oceanside.  No rest for the weary, as they say!

And this is meant to be more of a social event than training -- you saw the tailgating part of the post, right?

Kim - What routes are you thinking about?  South to the Reservation?  North to usery?  East to Queen Creek?  Inquiring minds want to know.  I voted for 50 miles, but I'll follow majority rules.

There needs to be a pizza eating option for Mirg. I'm in.  Is this a race?

Kerri: Dean and I will be flying our hot air balloons on Friday morning if you'd like to come out for that.

Wendell, the trend seems to be 25-30 miles, so I'm thinking a Queen Creek/Riggs loop (will post the route later). Yes, it's flat and somewhat boring, but it gets us out of the city stoplights and the wide shoulders are great for side-by-side chatting while riding.

Elliot, you can race if you want to... I have a small turkey stuffed animal that I can put up as a prize. Or maybe a six-pack of beer? You'll just have to get someone else to race you. Hmmmm, who would that be?

You got designer shades, just to hide your face and
you wear them around like you're cooler than me.

I might be interested in this one! Unless you start in the middle of the night again. How about in the afternoon?

I'm leaning toward a 2 p.m. start time for the ride. Perhaps two hours of riding and then tailgating at the park. I'll look into a beer permit for Tumbleweed park and reserve a ramada if there's one open on a Saturday afternoon...

Kerri - Friday is for SHOPPING! Silly!!  But you should totally go help Kim and Dean with the balloons! A very cool experience!!

So by "tail gating" do you mean "thanksgiving leftover eating?" haha!

I might be up for this. I will have to brush the dust off my bike, but sounds like fun!

Well if we aren't starting until 2pm... I might still be able to make this! Usually I get off from work at 2...but perhaps I can scoot out a little early without anyone noticing. Put me down as a maybe.

I can do anytime, but, is it a 2:00pm start time?   I am in regardless (and I get to miss taking the kids to another birthday party if at 2...double score for me!)

Oh my Lord! Look what I just found!!!! I am feeling a strong urge to make this, and maybe the tailgating would be a good excuse!
A Cherpumple cake! (Think TurDukIn)
Spice Cake with an Apple Pie inside, then Chocolate Cake with a Cherry Pie inside and finally Yellow Cake with a Pumpkin Pie inside.  All encased in frosting!!!!

Just a quick update on Saturday's ride -- still planning on a 25-30 mile ride starting around 2 p.m. from the Park and Ride on the corner of Hamilton and Germann in Chandler (west side of Tumbleweed Park). Dean's working on a route. It will be a social, no-drop ride (meet up at corners) with tailgating afterwards (dress warm!).

Who's in?

I have to bail on this, Ironman Kim. I'm spending some overdue time with the family. Have a great ride!
