You had a very big year with your first him and you just did a marathon! I think you can rest a bit before deciding!  :D

Jon Bovi

Do you have more information on the Waterloo Half?

I just found out about it a few weeks ago. It's within 30 minutes of my house so I thought there's no way I can pass it up. There's nowhere near the amount of people in it as there are in the marathons in Toronto or hamilton so I think it makes for a more relaxed atmosphere and perfect for a newbie marathoner.

I ran the half last year and will again in the spring.  Its a nice race, and like you said, pretty quiet.  Its on quiet roads outside the city too, so its a nice run (see more buggies than cars on a Sunday haha).  Its a little lonely on the full Im sure, but I think we had almost 300 people in the half, and 4 bathroom stops/aid stations.  Also parking is easy/free, and there is a stadium for spectators to wait indoors at the start/finish.

Let me know if you guys end up out and Ill try and look for you.  The guy you runs the race (max) is a great guy too if you have any questions for him.

My races already registered so far:
- Miami Half-Marathon - Jan, 30
- Harry's run 8K - Apr, 2
- Mississauga Half-Marathon - May, 15
- ZOO Run 10k - Sept, 24
- Scotiabank Marathon - Oct, 16

Races I'm already thinking about:
- Don't know really yet... couples of Tri for sure

Race I'm crazy to thin kabout, but... I know, I can be very crazy sometimes...
- Muskoka 70.3 !!!

Right now, I'm training for Miami and I started adding some bike in it. The swim will come in January

Can I make a couple of suggestions - not really a question since I'm going to anyway:

1)  You need to hurry up and bump your long run mileage up a bit to be ready for running that 1/2 in Miami.  Looks like 13km is your longest run in the past couple of months, and you're only 6 weeks out.  Lengthen some of your shorter runs by 2-3km and try to bump the distance on your long run by a 1-2km a week for the next few weeks so you at least get close to race distance.  Normally I wouldn't suggest the constant increases, but you seem a bit behind schedule.

2)  Consider skipping Muskoka this year.  It's only 4 weeks before your planned marathon, and I don't think you can juggle training for both races at essentially the same time + Muskoka will hurt, and it will take some time to recover.  If the marathon is the planned A race for 2011, save Muskoka for 2012.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the suggestion.
For Muskoka, yeah, you probably right. I will stick to my first goals as the sub4 is my A goal

For Miami 1/2, did 15k last saturday (dec, 11) but I'm struggling with an ITB sysndrom so my coach told me to relax a little bit and cross-train to keep the cardio and the muscular effort but not to work too much on the ITB... :\
I'm in the middle of a treatment right now and I should be able to put more k in the long runs beginning next week. Will see how things go
