Either in a bento box or in a plastic sandwich bag in my jersey pocket. It keeps the sweat off of it. That much sweat/humidity can kill a cell phone real fast.

Jersey pocket, usually. On shorter rides, just tucked into waistband on hip. 3-yr-old Samsung Blackjack, doesn't seem to mind a little moisture.

just got a betno box so now I put it in that but before that I used a very low profile fanny pack so I could clip my mace to it and there was a small pouch that fit my phone.

Mine goes in the saddle bag with my credit card and ID.  If I fall off the bike, I won't have to worry about landing on a phone and breaking more things.

Jersey pocket, never really thought about the plastic baggie idea until I read some of the other posts....not a bad idea.  Thanks!

Trust me on this one. (Sure you heard that before)  Inside plastic baggie then inside jersey pocket.  I've been drenched in sweat and rain, and it works!

Hopefully the only reason you want a phone with you is in case you have a break down and need a ride or an emergency. In that case I would suggest doing what I did and buying a really small throw away for $30. They usually include some minutes. I leave it off so it keeps it's charge and just leave it in the seat pouch. That way I don't get any disturbing calls, texts or emails from my work that I would feel obligated to answer and ruin my peaceful ride. You also don't have to worry about ruining your good phone this way.

I carry my phone so I can get to Google Maps when I am lost on one of my random rides or for when I want music.  Oh, and so I can post pictures on FB of the awesome surroundings when I stop for any reason to make all my friends back in Oregon biking in the ran annoyed.

I rarely wear a bike jersey so it's typically in my bento box.

When I am wearing bike shorts I use the back pocket when wearing tri shorts jersey or bento.

I have 5 kids so I need to carry my phone in case I need to cut my ride short. I also used it once to have my husband come to my rescue.

i had emergency call from my wife on one of my rides (my son broke his nose) and it was the fastest TT i have ever done... luckily, i was only 7 miles away, but i think i averaged 27mph from that point... i also had her pick me up on a ride that i was still 15 miles away from home, had two flats (one spare) and losing daylight

now back on topic... i throw mine in my jersey pocket... my id and $20 goes in the side pocket of my 400 mile bibs

I'm more impressed that this thread is up to 3 pages. I never knew there was so much that needed to be said about [Lewis Black] putting your phone in your pocket! [/Lewis Black]

Either jersey pocket or bento box.  Put it in a ziplock bag to protect from sweat or sudden rain showers.

Jersey pocket (small phone, though...BBerry Pearl...actually, one reason I haven't upgraded is that I like that it fits easily in a jersey pocket on in my running belt pack).  And X2 on putting it in a Ziploc if it might rain.

My wife keeps her Iphone in her bento box.
