I just want to report something that makes me happy.  For the first time in...   forever?  since I was going the other direction?...   on the Xterra sizing chart I am actually listed as a Large.  Not XXL, not XL, but a large.  Not sure why but that makes me very happy

I get it! I too am happy to be a large and not an XL. Also, I believe that I have inched my way out of the obese range for BMI.

As much as I poo poo BMI as a standard, me too    Got a ways to go before I am "normal," though....  in many respects

MuscleMomma - 2012-02-02 1:07 PM I'm in! Struggling to get into the rcording food and workout mode, but am keeping track of food on a pad till I get it on the computer. Sorry I'm not responding much, but I am keeping up on the posts and enjoying the inspiration. ImTriing - I don't know the P90x system too well. Is it endurance lifting and cardio, or more body building/cardio? I love interval training and lifting heavy weights. I guess it's silly as I'm female and I do a lot of lifting for not much gain - but I do enjoy it. I had a trainer at the gym tell me that if I want to do tri's to let the bodybuilding go. I'm doing lighter weights, slower, to exhaustion. I'm treadmilling and stationary biking to build a base for beginning some tri training in March. I'm 5'1 and hit a high of 200 lbs. Been 170's for a few years. 1/27 - 163 2/1 - 161 end of Feb. goal - 156

I started using MyFitnessPal.com a little while ago and I really like it, it has helped me get a much better handle on my eating, plus if I overeat I know what I have to do for exercise that day.

I would consider P90X circuit training, It can be a great cardio workout if you push yourself and depending on the weight you use you can go for either size or more lean. I just started back on P90X combined with my normal ~25miles a week running. The first time doing the Plyometrics my legs were killing me for a few days, I should have started a little slower?

2/1 - 161 lbs.
2/6 - 160.5

Dissappointed that I didn't lose more. Followed my eating plan, having calorie deficits every day. Got in 5 workouts.
Even watched the Super Bowl while eating fat free bean dip with baked chips, low fat microwave popcorn and drinking diet coke.

This happens - do the right things, don't lose weight. A week of that I I fall off healthy eating wagon, eat like a pig and lose 2 lbs. the next day.
Has happened many times. I have to assume that it is a coincidence and that the weight was coming off regardless of my losing focus and eating for a day.
I'm going to hang tough and do the right things and let my body do what it will about losing weight.

I'm nervous as well.  I wasn't the greatest this weekend but I did get my workouts in.  if for some reason I do gain  it would be the first time since mid December so that is a positive.

Just stick with it. One thing I learned through all my weight loss is to watch what happens every other week more then every week. The second was that your body adapts to changes real easy. You work in eating less and your body adapts to that as well.

Your mention of pigging out might be a key. I know when I ran real tight on calories and on the low end the only way I get thought that plateau was to go out and pig out for one day. Mind you by pigging out I ate good foods but increased my calories.

Eating too little causes you issues as well. Make sure you don't do that.

I am not an expert by any means. not a nutritionist. Just a dorky Engineer that figured out how to loose 75lbs and I have helped several others and what I did seems to work.

Biggest thing I can say is watch every 2 weeks more then every week and if you don't see a move you need to change something. That something might work for 2-4 weeks then you need to change things again. Our bodies are really amazing at adapting.

npenner02 - 2012-02-01 9:22 PM 2/1: 203.6 goal for the month198.6
I was right about my weight being down a couple of lbs from yesterday! Now to get sub 200 this month! I haven't been sub 200 in probably 8 years! Let's do this!

2/1: 203.6

2/8: 203.6  I figured after the weekend I had of eating that I would be lucky if I didn't gain a pound.  Glad I got in all the training I did so that it wasn't worse.  Now to get back on track.  Need to keep my eating super clean this week and get my miles in.  Also got some exciting news this week that I will be part of the American Cancer Societys Determination team in the NYC marathon!  So now I have my A race for the year and it will be November 4th so I should be in good shape going into the winter!  For clarification I just got asked because its a fundraising team, not because I am fast or anything.  But NYC is a once and a lifetime deal so I will take it.

oops.  Posted in January  Blonde moment.

I've been out of the Team Skinny loop for a bit, but I am down from 179.5 on Dec. 4th to 161 on Feb 4th.  Giddy about it, too!

There is no greater motivation to me right now than the number on the scale.

Congrats to all you losers! Bad91 - you the man!

Techdiver - You're right that it's easy for me to get discouraged when I look for weightloss every day. Got to focus on the long term goal.

Working out is getting to be more of a habit for me - but I am not nearly as consistent as I need to be and as I will be. Soon not hitting the gym will be like not eating that day- it just won't feel acceptable.

Eat clean and workout hard.

For me running is the best and fastest way to lose weight. Last year I was doing a lot more biking and swimming and really struggled losing weight, this year I am focusing on running and it is dropping much faster.

Looks like you are finding a way to drop those pounds, Great job!
