Could we lock this in to being the London Olympics thread?

What are going to be the highlight events for you?  I'm always partial to Track and Field.

In north England for the year so hopefully will be going to see some of it, been tyring to convince a London friend to let us crash on their couch.

As we have no tickets, hopefully see triathlon and marathon.

On the TV? Swimming, cycling, running, rowing, diving, gymnastics.

Thought it was interesting how Londoners are renting out backyard space to visitors.

I've got some friends racing women's track cycling and women's road cycling. The team hasn't been announced yet, but the selection pool has and I know most of the women on it, so I'm really excited to watch those events. But even if I didn't have some friends to cheer for, I love watching cycling.

I love the Olympics.  They really should have it at least every other year.  4 years is just way too long.

Well one other thing, boo on Universal Sports for making it so difficult for Cox Communication to carry it. (per their side of the story)

I love watching swimming with my 2 girls and wife. As for my personal fetish, there is nothing more exciting than the 1500 - 3 laps of strategy and 1 lap of pain!

I'm trying to figure out if my career can survive July and August...between the TDF and Olympics, I might post a zero in terms of productivity.

Olympics I'll be dialed in to soccer, swimming, marathon/tri, cycling, and track.

Bonus if I can catch parts of water polo and the steeplechase (both track and equestrian).

I can sit and waste hours watching almost any of it.  The running events are ALL my favorite. From marathon to 100m, steeplechase or relay, it doesn't matter.  All other races are good, too, though.

My son took up fencing and swimming in the last two years, so we're excited to watch those together. He had no interest in he Olympics in 2008. I'm also looking forward to track and cycling.

I'm super excited!  I get to be in London the week before the games and just looking forward to seeing what I can.  I'm planning to run parts of the marathon course and staying just north of Hyde Park where the triathlon will take place.

Marma and Ron usually create an Olympics Forum for the Summer Games. I'm hoping they will do that again this year. Always lots of great threads. I've been looking fwd to Aug 5 since the schedule was unveiled March 2011. Olympics junkie here.

I'm absolutlely gutted that I won't still be in London to be a part of the Olympics, but as I'm completely addicted to watching (and will have a LOT of free time on my hands), I love watching anything to do with track & field, swimming, triathlon, gymnastics, and the equestrian events.  Can't wait!!
