Hey Brian, I'm glad nothing is broken...on the bike I mean. Skin grows back, bike frames don't. Seriously, sorry about the crash man. I'm glad it wasn't worse. Were you on your new P2?

Haha, sad but true. And I knew I was in good hands when the people who stopped told me an ambulance was on the way and the bike was OK. It was the P2. Trying to get ready for Diamondman in two weeks.

bradleyd3 - 2012-08-24 5:14 PM Normally people use their brakes to stop and not their face. Glad you're okay....and it wasn't a ton worse.

or atleast their hands heh. A few years ago my sister crashed her bike and we joked that she should use the brakes instead of her chin.

That is no way to get ahead in Triathlon!

Your front brake is head and shoulders above the rest!

The "head" jokes from Austin Powers started going through my mind after I read this.  I'm
glad you're mobile and on your way to recovery.  Enjoy your time off and heal up quick.

I have been out of touch with the board for a while.  Stuff going on.  Still training though

I was on vaca in Philly a week or two ago with my family and was seeing all these perple running all over the city.  Looks like a great running town.  I was thinking to myself "I wonder how Brianrunsphilly is doing.  It would be cool to go for a run with someone who knows his way around the city".  (My first time there, loved it)

Anyway, that looks like a nasty fall.  Wish you the best.  Heal well.  17 MPH????  That makes me really wonder why I go 40 mph down hills.  Take care.

The bike has one scratch as far as I can tell! It was initially missing, and I was really upset, but the ambulance guys had put it in the ER staff room, and it was recovered this morning.

Define scratch? (Yes, this is what concerns me most in this situation. Wink

Yikes! Hope you heal up soon!  If it makes you feel any better, despite all the hazards of training in the third world, all my anxiety over clipping in, aerobars, races, etc., my only crash to date has been from hitting a downed tree branch while getting a water bottle, riding in the industrial park, which is probably the only traffic-free area in the entire country, at 17 mph (maybe that speed is hazardous?). I can't even blame mechanical malfunction, just spacing out!

Yes, between the Kelly Statue and St. Joe's boathouse. At least I got to go to Hahnemann, I'm on faculty there. Good service

Can't tell you how many people I know who have wrecked on the SRT. I grimace every time I see people riding there without helmets including a lot of strong riders who should know better.

Yeah I heard this a lot from the ER staff. Too many people think you don't need a helmet if you're only riding on the path.

I know that helmet saved me from head injury. And I had my RoadID on, so they had all my medical and contact information had I lost consciousness.
