So depending on how you want to break it down:

1,000 miles a year

83.333 miles a month

19.23 miles a week

2.74 miles a day

If you run 3 miles a day instead of 2.74, you can miss almost 32 days and still meet the goal. So there is some flex room. Just depends on what works for you.

Good Luck!

Based on this, I am behind, but then again, if I stick to the plan I have chosen for the first 12 weeks of the year, I should be back ahead of the curve sometime in February or early March.    And after today's race I am hoping for a lot of improvement between now and then.  First mile went according to plan but after that  -  yuck

39.9 miles done.  This is going to be a fun group!  I know many of the people from other places (plus I'm married to KWDreamun) and everyone is fun.  Looking forward to getting to know the others.

Darren, thanks for the demo of the setting the goal.  That is cool! Set mine up plus set up hubby's.

Erin, would you like for me to put together a spreadsheet?  I think maybe we could just put everyone's name and then let them record their monthly mileage.  Just let me know if you would like one.

39.9 miles done.  This is going to be a fun group!

I read this a while back and you are not Ultra training now but you have done nothing yet to change my impression of you Cool

On the other side of the equation, when your foot is healthy you could probably knock out the 24 run miles in one session and I would take 4 - 6 Laughing

What he said... on all accounts!

You guys made me laugh!!!!  You just happen to meet me during the ultra training and that gave you the wrong idea.

Well, I got 5km of 'real' mileage and 30min of aquajogging in this week.  I'm not going to add the aquajogging in to my total until I see how long I am going to be out.  I'll see the PT tomorrow again and see where we are at.  Great weeks everyone!

I hope you get good news from the PT. I am at 20 miles for the first week. I am heading out now for a four mile run.

I did 743 last year and took the last 3 months off. Since my Sept. 12 HIM, I have pretty much done nothing except eat and gain 15 pounds. I am not signed up for a single event yet for this year.

Someone mentioned this and I knew there would be a 1000 mile challenge here on BT. I'm in. I'm at zero, but about to head out.

Ok, it looks like I may be in the water for some time.  I reckon that my slow training pace is about 7.5min/km.  1600km=12000min.  I will track my aquajogging time and log that.  When/if I get back out on the road I will figure out how to prorate the km for the rest of the year.

Wow! So many people have signed up for this - I was not expecting this to happen at all.

Well week one is done everybody - unless someone happens to live in Hawaii, and then you've got a little more time, but that's about it. So just to recap to keep on pace you should have run  just over 19 miles by this point. Please remember to log your runs so that we can all keep up and encourage each other. As far as I can tell here is where everyone is at:

Got room for another?  1000 miles is one of my goals for this year too.  I'm at 16.5mi over 6 runs in the first week, but I'm on a slow build so my weekly mileage will increase for a little while still.
