Comments:

Goals for this race:

1. Survive and not die
2. Run my own race
3. Be faster than Saturday's 5k

Somehow I managed to accomplish all of these goals! I started off a bit too fast (running 11:13 min/mile going into my first walk break), so I had to slow down some later one. I tried to stick to running 5/walking 3 because it was so hot and I was feeling under the weather (did I mention I had a stomach bug earlier in the day?). Got passed a ton at the beginning, but I definitely passed people towards the end.

Annoyed that there wasn't food left at the end of the race because of all the non-racers eating the food. Sent a message to the race org on Facebook, so hopefully that will change.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Good given the conditions.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, got some water, tried to find food. Chatted quickly with a few people, then drove home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Heat, stomach bug.

WOOT!  Nice job with hitting all 3 of your goals!

I hope the food thing changes - that's one of my HUGE pet peeves when non-runners/triathletes/racers start eating all the food for the people who have actually done the race.  Grrrrrrr!!!

Nice job!  I accessed this through your race log and I noticed that your two events this week were very similar in time.  I thought to myself, "Now that's consistency!"  Then I noticed that the Monday event was faster!  Woo hoo!  WAY TO GO!

I hate it when non racers partake and when organizers put out all the food at once so the people who are faster or do a shorter distance (5k/10k event, for example) get the food and then there is nothing left for me.  Boo on the organizers for that!  Glad that you spoke up!

Great job. Even though it was hotter, you still met all of your goals.
