Hartford Marathon Foundation
75F / 24C
Total Time = 1h 07m 13s
Overall Rank = 28/466
Age Group = M3034
Age Group Rank = 4/23
Pre-race routine:

Grabbed the boat to hang out in the sound post race. Did the packet pickup, Linda got bad because the massage people ignored here and didn't keep our appointment time.
Event warmup:

Did a mile or so jog pre-race.
  • 12h 34m
  • 880 yards
  • 1h 25m 41s / 100 yards

Felt pretty solid. Did some drafting but also ended up way off course.
What would you do differently?:

Sight better, not rip a hole in my wetsuit
Transition 1
  • 01m 36s

I had a very good T1 time. Everything went smoothly.
What would you do differently?:

  • 31m 48s
  • 12 miles
  • 22.85 mile/hr

Great bike. >22 MPH split, pretty decent
What would you do differently?:

this was a week after IMLP so that had to play a role here
Transition 2
  • 00m 52s

The bike transition had a steep downhill you had to run with the bike. It sucked but I managed to sprint down the hill in my bike shoes with little issue. Could have busted my ass here.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, glad I kept my shoes on
  • 20m 24s
  • 3.2 miles
  • 06m 21s  min/mile

Best run off of a fast bike I've ever had. Close to my stand alone 5k PR pace in a sprint tri. This was pretty awesome.
What would you do differently?:

Post race
Warm down:

Hang out on the beach for a bit and waited for Linda. Was a cool place to end a race.

My first triathlon was at age 56. At first I was just the cameraman at my daughter's first triathlon, then I am doing the races that she has done.
