Subject: What's your deal?!
Hi all,

Long time lurker here... Everyone has a different priority depending on their life circumstances and experiences. For example – if you’re unemployed or your house is under water the economy may be your top concern. If you live in a poor neighborhood and your school district just lost its accreditation – education may be your top concern. If you have loved ones suffering under the tyranny, murder and corruption of a fanatical leader in a foreign country – foreign policy may be your top concern. If you’re gay in AL and want to marry your partner – human rights may be your top concern.

What are your top concerns? Place these samples in order from 1 to 6 (1 being the most important, 6 the least). Yes, they may affect each other. No, you may not combine (i.e. “E and A are my first…”) and no, you may not add to this list.

The rules: No explanations. Just answers. This is not about stating your position or justifying your decision – just what’s most important to you in your life. It doesn’t matter (for this exercise) “why” (i,e, weather you're "for" or "against" Obamacare) just what's most important. Yes, this is a cold, cold exercise. If you place anything more than just letters – you’ve failed.

I’m simply curious to see what the biggest priority is among you/us folks.

Thanks for playing!

A Environment (global warming, clean air, clean water, endangered species/environments, etc…)

B Economy (jobs, national dept., markets, indicators, middle class, unions, right to work, minimum wage, economic regulations, etc…)

C Healthcare (insurance practices, cost/affordability, Obamacare, obesity, etc…)

D Education (cost, measurement practices, funding, etc…)

E Human Rights/Domestic Law (gun rights, gay rights, minority rights, affirmative action, abortion, school prayer, security, etc…)

F Foreign Policy (war, middle east, aid, etc…)

Thanks to all who have replied - it's interesting to see the differences in priorities of issues. Also, the fact that (small sample I know) no two have been totally similar - I find that the most interesting of all. In a weird way, I'm kind of glad for it.

<raises hand>

I'm not 100% sure how to answer some of these.

For example, A is very important to me, but I have an opposition stance to parts of it and a supportive stance to other parts.  However if I answer A as my top priority I'll look like that tree hugger Switch.

Just curious, or does it even matter.

It's whatever issue is the most important to you one way or another. Yes, for sure each group is *very* complicated - no doubt about it. It's whichever one is most personally important to you I guess. For example the environment may be the most important to you because you live in an area where there could be drilling to help with local jobs but the environmentalists are stopping it.... or the other way around. Either way, that issue is important. Make sense?

I don't want you thinking I'm a creepy stalker.

BTW, I would have guessed human rights would have been your top one.

Are we allowed to talk about our answers? I thought that was against the rules. Not that that ever stops me...

I interpret that as not being able to explain my answers or stating my position.  I see plenty of room for making fun of other peoples positions though.
