I don't know what I am doing wrong - I have been stuck around this weight for over a year now. I can dip below it but it's just not sustainable. I almost think I am to be stuck at this weight. I know that I still have a few pounds to lose. Frustrating! I blame the cold =).

1/1/14: 151
1/8/14: 150.2
1/15/14: 149.4
1/22/14: 148.6
1/29/14: 147.6

Total loss: -3.4

Well two more days to get down to Feb. 1 goal of 147. Funny thing, got a bit dehydrated at a track workout on Monday night and got home so late I wasn't able to eat enough for dinner. Definitely saw 145.6 on the scale on Tuesday morning... which was fun to see... but really just missing water weight. And I ate a TON yesterday as I was hungry all day. Whoops. Can't wait to see that number for real!

Don't get too discouraged yet. It's only January! I, for one, believe in you. Is your goal sustainable for you?

Not too bad considering I have been on vacation for 2 weeks, beer and wine and good times are not good for losing weight!

Thanks, I'm glad someone does. I think It should be... I know I have more weight to lose, based on my body shape. Most of my extra flab is around my belly.

I know I should be happy, I started 2012 off at 250lbs. Now at 190 and can run a 7:45 min/mile for a HM.

Thanks for letting me take part. Here are my goals:

Starting weight at the beginning of Jan 2014: 189

January Goal: 184

June Goal: 170

The initial goal for me is to start eating the right foods. I do well during the day but splurge in the evenings (bad snacker).

Awesome work everyone! Welcome aboard, new folks. Good luck with achieving your goals.

Since it's the 31st, I weighed in:

1/13: 150
1/16: 149.6
1/21: 148.8
1/28: 148.8
1/31: 148.2

Weight lost: 1.8

Not a ton, but not bad for two weeks. A slow downward trend is fine for me. I do notice that from the increase in training and its intensity, I'm tightening up all over. Looking less squishy. Yay!

On to February!

Week 1: 225.8

Week 2: 224.6

Week 3: 224

Week 4: 216.4

Total loss for January: 9.4

It's amazing how stress often produces different results at different times of my life.  This time, it caused me to lose 6 pounds in a day.  Not the optimal way to lose weight, but I'll take the win this month.

With the coming of the New Year, athletes commonly think about making nutrition resolutions. Good thing, given only 3 to 4% of Americans follow all of the established Dietary Guidelines.
