Cubs - Mets should be a good series.

Did anyone watch game 5 of Jays - Rangers?

Since my team came out on top, I can say it was a classic!

Unapologetic CUBS FAN, here.

Cubs were 7-0 against the Mets this season.

Not sure how big an impact losing our SS (Russell will be?  But Arietta gets to pitch twice and Lester is looking better as the season gets longer.  Bullpen is solid and Rondon has been a good closer.  These kids are too young to realize how significant their success would be.

I'll probably favor KC in the AL, just because that's my son's team.

Go Jays!

I haven't watched a game since they were last good in the early 90s...

Jays lost.

Cubs lost.

I don't have a dog in the AL fight, but I'd like to see KC in the World Series.  Cardinal fans will explode if they have to choose between the Cubs and KC.

Glad I didn't stay up to watch the end of that one. I would have been a zombie today.

The Royals are such a resilient team-- they never, ever think they're beat. That kind of mentality goes a long way, and it's frustrating to play a team that won't lay down when you've got your foot on their neck.

If the Mets don't win tonight, I'll say Royals in 5. If they get back on track and go into NYC with home field advantage, I'll say Mets in seven.

And the Royals come from behind.... again.... to win the whole thing.  Came from 2+ runs down 7 times in this post season alone.  Unreal.  They really never give up.

That was an impressive performance.  Good series to watch.   Enough runs scored to keep even the casual fan interested.  CONGRATS KC!

I kept going to sleep with the Mets in the lead and waking up to see that they'd lost. I figured they were toast after that crushing loss in game 1, so I'm not surprised it only went 5.

I think the Mets core of young pitchers will keep them in contention for a while, so hopefully they can get back there.

I thought the way Collins managed his bullpen, and especially the closer, Familia, was horrible. I can't put it all on him-- there was poor defense, and too many second chances for Royals hitters to take advantage of, but what was the closer doing pitching in a blowout game 3 win? And Collins initially told Familia that he was coming in to pitch the 9th on Sunday and then relented and let Harvey go out in the 9th, so Familia had to sit down after having gotten ready to pitch. I'm a purist also, and I'm annoyed by the overspecialization on pitching staffs, but it is what it is-- a closer's job is to get the last three outs. I thought Collins was too inconsistent in the way he used Familia from game to game and it can't have been good for his preparation.

I was glad to see the Royals win after last year's disappointment. They're a hard team not to like, even if you're rooting for their opponent.

Would just like to point out that after the Royals won the series in game 5, there were no arrests even with thousands of people celebrating in downtown KC into the early morning hours.

Yesterday an estimated 800,000 fans converged on downtown KC for the Royals parade and there were a total of 3 arrests for "minor incidents".

Now we just need the Chiefs to come up with a miraculous turn around this season so we can show how well behaved we can be after a Superbowl victory.
