(Christians in quotes because I know you really can't be a Christian without sincerely professing your faith).Originally posted by mdg2003 Originally posted by Jackemy1 What the heck is an Atheist Jew? And with morality being relative, therefore each individual defining their own morality, then how is there a cohesive sense of right and wrong? Any action, vice, or conduct that satisfies the self would be by definition morally right.. He said he was raised Jewish. I guess if since he's chosen to denounce all religion, that would no longer make him Jewish in his own eyes. I do not know if the Jewish community would recognize this and no longer consider him to be Jewish. That was my interpretation as well. Grew up Jewish, but came to believe there was no God. On a side note in church a few months ago our pastor used the term Christian Atheist to describe somebody who believes in God (Christ), but lives their life as though he doesn't exist. #ouch agree |

It instead seem to reason that everyone is indeed their own island and the endgame is the worship of the desires of oneself. I wasn't trying to support either so I am not sure what you mean. Atheism alone simply is the belief there is no God. So I'm not sure how the belief in no God does not support my theory. There is no "end game". We have free will. God or no God, we decide what we want to do. We are indeed our own island. We decide if we want to play by the rules of society or faith, or we don't. If you do not have faith in anything, then indeed, there is only self. |

Master 3127 Sunny Southern Cal | Subject: RE: interesting video on aetheism I really don't want to wade into the atheist vs. theist argument. However, I would like to say that I watched the video, and for whatever reason, I have a hard time getting past her pierced lip. She could be talking about putting babies in a blender and I wouldn't hear a word, I'd just be looking at that lip ring and wondering why she did that to herself. No offense meant to any of you out there with pierced lips, or other body parts. Atheist or not. Please carry on. |

If you have metal sticking through your face I don't care what you have to say, I can't take you seriously.. My kids tell me I shouldn't be so judgmental.......I'm not judging, I couldn't care less, I'm just not listening. Don't judge ME. Edited by Left Brain 2015-10-17 12:20 PM |
