Gatsby - 2006-09-14 11:00 AM Believe it or not, I admire you tmwelshy. You are the personification of WAHOO! Your post explaining the origin of wahoo should have been pinned/stickied at the top of the forum It's what keeps us going when even that water looks uphill.

Thanks!

I admire everyone from BT who completed the IMMOO this weekend. The grit and determination that took is hard to fathom.

I admire Hangloose because he keeps his sense of humor but seems to always push himself to collapse as he crosses the finish line.

I admire:

SkubaPunk - 'nuff said
OldAg92- Brandt is the perfect example of someone that can do anything he puts his mind to.
Possum- She has given back so much to BT, various charities and to the entire sport of triathlon. Also, if there is anyone that would be a great mom it will be her.

Happycow (of course)- It can't be easy to work, train and raise 3 kids, especially with one of them training 20-30 hours a week, six months out of the year. She never complains and even encourages me to go out and train. (I think that is so she can go shopping, but that's an entirely new thread.)

I know there are more people but that is what I can come up with now.

The Mac - ...

Thanks, Mac! (I guess that commission check I sent you cleared? )

I'm going to pay it forward.

I admire Max as a great representative for all of the over 50 BTrs here. I'm going to be joining their ranks in another eighteen months.

As I'm quickly finding out while nursing my injury, older bodies act differently than younger ones. Physical things I use to take for granted aint so easy anymore.

When I saw Max cross the finish line this year at IMLP, I thought, "Man, that guy's got "it"".

Thanks Max!

Jorge (amiine) and Felix (dragoman)...both incredibly driven and immensely talented.  They both make me wish I was 25 years old again and had their natural ability to just do it at high intensity, day in and day out.  In my next life, I want to come back as either one of them.....but just a bit richer so I don't have to work any more.

*blush* Thanks IronMax, that's way too kind! I've posted in previous times that Max is by far a big inspiration as an athlete and as a person!

I also admire MANY BTers around here like Jess (Irongirl and mom), KathyG which have committed to become a better athlete (and successfully doing it), Chippy training towards a Mary after heart surgery, Daremo logging monster running miles (for real!) and also been a husband and dad, Heidi IM PR at a VERY tough course, and many many more.

So far the highlight of my Tri season is been to race direct the Dash a Dash Sprint and jockstrapping for the HUGE BTers convoy at Cranberry! (jeeezzz there most be something in the Gatorade here in Cancun cuz I am getting all mushy )

These are all for athletic achievment/ability, not COJ - although it might seem like it.

Welshy - If you haven't read his marathon report, you have to.  It's fantastic.  To me it defines the kind of spirit/humor that will get me through the endurance challenges I have set in front of me.

Run4yrlif and running2far for their swimming prowess and willingness to help a rock try to float.

Max and Jeepfleeb- how do you list what these guys have accomplished?  'nuff said.  Besides (in Aaron's case) anyone willing to take out a Disney character at the finish line is worthy of admiration.

Bear - A guy who started out as a runner, became a big volume cycling guy and is now dedicated to swimming (never dropping off too much in the other events).  His training volume is and dedication is amazing.

MarkK and CindyK - I've raced with them twice now and they are great people on top of being great and fun athletes to be around.

Whizzzzz - man did she kick tail this summer!  She had training days that beat some weeks that I had.

Comet - not only for her racing but for creative and dedicated jockstrapping!

TH3 FRB - again this is for the combination of his ability and his willingness to share advice.

Coredump - all of his current stats are actually my long term goals.  I should just put a link to his log under LONG TERM GOALS in my log.

Mesteren - He's fast.  If you haven't already go check out our Crazy Iceland Dude!

Derekl - have you seen the picture of his legs?  His muscles are so big it looks like he's got three kneecaps on each leg.  And he's a fellow hairy beast too!

All the Utah BT'ers for sticking together and pushing each other - and for letting a flatlander onto their team for the Jan swim challenge.  Runningfoo, Uttriman, brappleye3, et al.

Daremo and Jorge for their cycling experience and knowledge - and again, willingness to share it.

dhlundblad - I've read a lot of inspirational IM race reports in the last 9 months, many great stories.  It's not really fair to say one is better than others, but her story is incredible.  I hope she's doing well.

lisac957 and la querita - my fellow Celiac BT'ers, cuz it ain't easy to do this stuff when you can't eat what the rest of you eat.  Our fuel sources are WAY more limited than the rest of you.

Bodycheck - She was one of the first to inspire me and she motivated me to one of my best workouts ever - the 2:20 run.  Thanks!

Finally, I admire all of those other BT'ers who are in a similar position to me struggling to balance training, family and work.  Some who remind me of my situation are tupuppy, schmize, morey1, momx3, marmadaddy, Daremo (again), cobannero, madcow.  I know there are so many more of us out there I just can't think of any more names.

I could go on and on and I'm sorry to all those I left out.  I guess I could have said I admire just about everyone on BT.
