Cowboys-Patriots. It's going to be a battle. Frankly I'm stoked because I really want to see what my Cowboys are really made of. The similarities are striking -- both teams are 5-0, both teams have a QB who is en fuego (disregard Romo's performance last week, which I hope was a fluke), both have loud-mouthed WRs wearing No. 81, though neither have talked at all this week unless you consider `the note' a big deal. Two decent defenses. Should be a shootout!

Discuss.

I've been waiting for this thread.  I really hope it turns out to be a good game.  I have been a Cowboys fan since I can remember.  I always loved the Cowboys and my cousin loved the Steelers.  Those were the days but I digress.  I am looking forward to the game. GO COWBOYS!!!

I think the Patriots will win in a somewhat lopsided victory. Not a total blowout, but I suspect they'll be in control for most of the game. Just a feeling. They are just so good.

Go Packers! (had to get that in, this being a football thread and all)

Go New England.

I only root for the Cowboys if it is in the best interest of the Packers.  At this point of the season, it's not.  So I won't.

Go Cowboys.  Interesting that this could be a preview of the Superbowl.  New England is always a contender and the NFC is very weak this year, without the Bears or Saints returning like they did last year.

ESPN's Mel Kiper just said `Dallas hasn't played anybody but New England is proving their a juggernaut.'

Uh ... Here's the Patriots schedule so far:

Jets (1-4) 38-14 W
Chargers (2-3) 38-14 W
Bills (1-4) 38-7 W
Bengals (1-3) 34-13 W
Browns (2-3) 34-17 W

Mel, the Pats are proving they're a juggernaut against teams that are a combined 7-17?

Come on ... find another reason, Kiper.

***

In the interest of full disclosure the Cowboys' opponents are 6-19:

Giants (3-2) 45-35
Dolphins (0-5) 37-20
Bears (2-3) 34-10
Rams (0-5) 35-7
Bills (1-4) 25-24

the only reason it will be close is New England doesn't want to show all of their stuff just in case they meet for the super bowl.

the score may be close, like  7-12 points, but the game will never be in doubt,, the dallas fan's and that includes me will be thinking "IF we can just make a play here... or here.. or IF this happens then ....."  but it won't.  New England will say the same stuff,, "yea they played hard and we are glad to have gotten this win on the road.."  but we should  come out of it thinking that new england is just really that good instead of thinking about all of the "IF we just did,.,,,,,"  stuff... but that's what new england does [until this run this year] they never blow people out and it always seems close score wise, but the game is never really in doubt for them, they allow the other team to make mistakes and lose

New England has more recievers in their four and five reciever set then Dallas has people to cover them, which will have a huge impact on them playing man-man to allow the different blitz packages so Brady will get all the time he needs and even if the 'Boys secondary was healthy their big weakness is giving up the pass anyway.

Don't even get me started on what seems to happen to quarterbacks the first time they go up again Bill Billichick or randy Moss still feeling slighted this the cowboys didn't draft him over his weed incident so he really kills us..... auugh.....

And yet I'll be glued to the set, hoping for a win for the cowboys...  just not putting any money on this game

well talent wise the patroits have had a tougher schedule... who would have thought that the chargers and bengals would be this bad record wise. people pretty much knew that the bills' dolphins and ram's just wouldn't have a great year..

But there is still hope for the cowboys

Yes, there's always the hope that none of their players will leave the field on a stretcher and that they'll retain some dignity by losing by less than 14 points.

Other than that, they don't have much hope.

It's going to be a Red Sox/Patriots championship year. I can feel it.

The Pats will be in solid control of that game as they have all season. Brady is playing solid and the Patriots low score in a game this year is 34. When an offense puts up 34 points its tough to beat a team.

The Cowboys are riding something good but I don't think they are on the Pats level.

As to that Pats Sox championship year...

The Sox are gona have to get past the Rockies. Note the Rockies took 2 of three from the Sox this season, and they crushed them to do it.

This is from Bill Simmons of ESPN....

Tony Romo has started 16 games in the NFL. He looked great in five of them, good in three of them, mediocre in four of them, lousy in three of them and abysmal in two of them. Should I trust Romo in a gigantic game ... or should I trust Tom Brady, who has a 127.2 QB rating and three Super Bowl rings? You tell me.

So in a couple of weeks your pats could still be undefeated playing the still undefeated colts [booo!!] and around that time the Red sox could be winning a world series, and you have the start of the NBA now the celtics have kevin garrnet and with a weak eastern conference a great chance to go to the finals.. life is looking good for you Boston area sports fans

The Celtics are coming back...dare we dream?

There were few sights as a kid more amazing than looking up into the rafters of the Boston Garden and seeing all those white and green Championship banners hanging down.

OMG - I just got chills remembering that ... and I think I have tickets here in Miami ... .

Bradword?  pfffft ... .  Normally, I like you.  Today?  Not so much!  Innocent

And if anyone needs me a week from tomorrow?  If the phone don't ring, that's me calling.

But, that will be one awesome game.  Or games.

Shoot, now if the Sox would only come back for Interleague against the Marlins ... .
