Yeah, ditto me too!  Now I have to look at the last results from IMAZ to see how fast I have to go to be competitive in my AG!

I have been "taking it easy" since IM Fla 2006 (ha! we all know that triathletes lie, lie, lie....but just doing a bunch of shorter distance races and runs) and 2007 was just 5 sprint or olympic distance races. I am so pumped and ready for another IM! Have a marathon in just 6 weeks, then rest time, then work on speed, then wahoo, June 1 starts the 26 week training countdown.
So- anyone made lodging plans yet? Coming from Mississippi, I will probably fly out Wed. 19th.
Looking into condo's????

Welcome Ironman Virgins! You will do great. From this moment on- remove the word "if" from your vocabulary. From now on- it will be "When I finish my Ironman" - never "if" Believe! You will finish and it will be the most awesome thing you have ever done.
The journey will just about kill you and yes, training for it was worse than the day of actually racing it.

I'll pad my post count!

I signed up!  It will FINALLY be my first IM.  I've been itching for YEARS but I had to wait until I had knee surgery.  I finally had my knee surgery in September and I seem to be past all the major knee setbacks.  Whew.

My other scheduling nightmare is that I am deploying to the Middle East in January with a return no later than end of July return date.  But could be earlier.  Anyway, it made it impossible to sign up for most of the IMNA events and I really didn't like the idea of IMFL.  So...this IM was a match made in heaven for me!

Whooopeeeeeee!

Now, just to nurse a lingering case of plantar fasciitis and then START TRAINING!

I'm in! After getting shut out of IMLP and spending too much time on the fence for IMFL, I'll take this little gift from the NASports folks and see everyone in November.
An Ironman a year is becoming a nasty habit.

I'm in. Just completed my first IM in Lake Placid.

Anyone have any recomendations for places to stay near the transition/expo. I will have an 11 month old and would like a place with a kitchen.

Thanks

Check out some of the hotels listed on the IM AZ website. I believe there's a hotel that offers a guest room, which is pretty much like a condo- it has a small kitchen area, with pots and pans, micrwave, fridge, etc.  I can't remember off the top of my head which hotel offered that though.

Jen! I am so happy to read that you are finally able to take the plunge! You have waited far too long, and its time!May the journey to the start line be sweet and the finish even sweeter!
