Did you guys all know that Macca is doing this race??

I happened to go to his website and he has it listed on his 2008 sked.  Wild.

This was news to me, anyway.  Pretty cool!!

Yeah, I knew that, he called me a few weeks back to say he was in.  Wanted to know if we could go fishing the day before the race, maybe grab a few drinks at the local Tiki Bar.

Pretty neat racing at the same venue as the WORLD CHAMPION of the sport. I wonder if Macca can break 1:50? Matt Reed set the course record in 2006 with 1:51:46.

Only 151 days left till race day.

I know a few really good triathletes who are now doing the race just to get thier shot at Macca. Will be a fast race this year. Good stuff.

I really wish you hadn't told everyone that.  I was hoping to just blend in with the crowd.  Now you've exposed my plan.  Thanks.  Thanks a lot.

Looks like I'm in as a relayer for the bike portion.  The swimmer is crazy fast for an older guy, did around an 18 something last year I think.

Matt Reed has comitted to the race to get it on with Macca. However, as big as that is, even more importantly (from a male point of view, that is) Jessi Stensland is registered!! WOW! Go JESSI!!

Both Matt Reed and the winner from last year will be there with Macca.  It'll be nice to see something other than a one man solo lead.  Usually there is one top tier pro and then other more regional guys who get crushed by the top tier guy.

Didn't she "retire" or something?  She hasn't raced much lately as far as I know.

Any ideas on raceday where to park? I can't imagine how crowded the area arond Centenial lake will be. Is parking permitted in the surrounding neighborhoods?

Yeah, it's pretty much a free for all for parking.  They even park people on the grass within Centennial on race day.

Macca did Memphis in May in '06 which I too was doing as my first Oly tri.  I got to see about 10 seconds of him coming out of the water ... I was still standing in line to *start* the swim!

Just like the folks who go to France to see Le Tour -- days of preparation for 15 seconds of event...   Hope that it finds it's way onto Comcast or Vs.

Rode a good portion of the course today (I do about 3 or 4 times a month when I'm actually riding).

There were a decent amount of people out, but not like there will be next weekend!

I just checked the website and can't see the times I'm going off.  I'm in the 20-24 yr old AG I believe.  All I see are key points and info about the race with lodging and such.

Well, if its a tricolumbia race, all the MEN will go first :P  I hate being a girl sometimes. I usually end up waiting 1.5 hours to swim.

Since I'm in a relay, my swimmer will go off last as usual.  But he is smokin' fast (in my eyes) and should catch the wave ahead I would guess!

Then it is up to me to just hold on as well as I can on the bike.  I already know there is a guy (Mike C.) who is a low 32 10k runner that is running the relay leg for another team.  The onyl chance in hell we would have of placing well compared to that team is if our swimmer kicks azz, then I put up a decent time at least 10 minutes faster than their rider and our runner just holds on and does his best (I do not believe he is that fast at all, but I've never met him).

I'm going to organize a group ride over in Tri Talk for anyone who wants to go on Saturday (Sunday being Mom's day I gotta take care of the wife) and ride the course!
