Subject: Cancer sucks - needed to let it out...

I'm sorry to report this downer, folks.  I received some unforgiving, heartbreaking, sucker-punch in the stomach news when I got home tonight from my wife - my wife's Aunt L, who was suffering from cancer for quite awhile, passed away in her husband's (Uncle D) arms this afternoon at their home.

Please remember to hug your family and friends, people, and tell them that you love them as much as you can.

CANCER F*CKING SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure she's no longer suffering. Makes me wonder how we can put people on the moon, find new ways to computerize our lives, solve unsolved murders or crimes by finding dna, etc... but can't find a way to cure cancers. We're close... at least I hope so.

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words.  I'm sorry for those that have lost, too.

I'm at home watching the snowfall while #3 son (2-1/2) is sleeping off a 102 plus degree F temp due to an ear infection.  The drive to the doctor this morning was horrendous, but the trip in at least confirmed that he needed some antibiotics - good ol' bubblegum-flavored Amoxycillin.

Even though it's peaceful watching the snowfall, I'm a little down thinking that Aunt L is missing this.

Keep working out people, and be safe.

It's stories like these, that make you realize just HOW many people have lost someone close to them due to cancer. I just hope that many more young people decide to pursue careers in medicine and research so we can save more lives.

Sending a hug your way...

Yes, it does. My dad died of cancer at 69 yo, way too young.  We still miss him like crazy some 15 years later.  That is why I try to make the most of every day.

I hope you, your wife and extended family have a good holiday together sharing many memories of your Aunt.
