  • Overall course based on my ability: Too easy

  • Comments: I only remember one aid station at the end of the road. The volunteers had obviously not done this before. The people and the station were beyond the turnaround by 10 feet or so and were not prepared to hand out water. All really nice but the organization of the aid station was not good. The road was open to cars on the route and many were really close when passing other bikes. The shoulder had a lot of debris to navigate. Parking was a long way from transition due to road work. It's a good venue with the stadium and that was nice.

  • Comments: It was a good race, overall well organized. The vendors after the race were helpful and nice. I enjoyed this race much more than my first race (Cooper Sprint Tri). If I wasn't moving I would like to do more of the Dallas Athletes races.

  • Comments: This was my first race so I have very little to compare it to. I have been to another race which was my wife's first race and then seemed much more organized when it came to the swim start. The course was well marked and the had plenty of volunteers the only issue I had was the swim start.

  • Comments: Although this was my first triathlon, I can definitely say it was well run. Tom Ryan from Dallas Athletes was there dishing out plenty of encouragement, thanks, and advice. All of the volunteers were great. This is definitely an event that I would do again!

  • Comments: The course had some areas where exposed aggregate sidewalks seemed a little slippery when wet. Hey it was raining though. The indoor facility Pool was excellent. Maybe next year the rain will hold off.

  • Comments: Great race and really fun experience for my first time out...even with the constant rain. I really enjoyed talking with all the athletes before and after the race. Everyone is so supportive and happy to be racing!! One lady summed it all up for me as we were packing up after the race. When she discovered it was my first Tri and that I had really enjoyed it, she said "if you loved it in these conditions, you are so hooked!!"

  • Comments: There should have been more pancakes. They were doing a good job of making them, but a greedy Aggie(a different one, but a much bigger douchebag) decided as I was getting ONE he needed a THIRD(which was also the last one that was ready). This wasn't a case of him not seeing me, we were standing shoulder to shoulder and he told the cook to give him the third AFTER I got my first. He then mumbled a half-hearted "sorry" and walked off. I hate Aggies. None of that is DA/DSU's fault, I just wanted everyone to know how big a d*ckbag Aggies generally are. I liked the course overall and will probably do this one again next year. It's a fast course and I bet I can drop a couple more minutes off my time in '09.

  • Comments: I PR'd by 17 minutes, and beat my arch rival by over 18 minutes! How can I complain. I could have pushed alot harder, and in fact I think that the next sprint I will not wear a watch at all, so I just have to go until it hurts.

  • Comments: Another great race by the Dallas Sports University. And the weather was stunning and perfect. As with the St. Patrick's Day tri, I was beaten by the 11-year old girl from The Woodlands. Although, I'm closing the gap.

  • Comments: Overall, a great day. I was happy with my performance. Happy that Brandt came out to jockstrap!! DSU is trying hard to put on a good race. The shirts were pretty bad and no hats this time. There were a few times on the bike where I was concerned about cars. Twice, cars turned from 1709 into side streets through the bike lane. Once was a little close for my comfort. Also, on the second loop, I got caught behind a line of cars that were going slow. Apparently the lead car did not want to pass a cyclist so that backed things up. When there was no oncoming traffic I rode in the other lane. That was really outside of the DSU's control. Overall, good race that I will do again.

  • Comments: This was a great race and I really liked the bike course.. just having pancakes at the end is enough for me.. while I joke about being jaded I think it's so cool that this family had pictures of the young daughter cheering on her mom all over the bike course..Considering the only people I see at a race are BT people since my friends are either sleeping, drinking or at church on the weekend I'll never have someone out there cheering me on. So while I joked about it a bit it's more that I'm envious. Plus You never know what is going on in people's lives and while to me this was just a fun morning workout to others it is so much more. I just need to remember that sometimes.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race...really enjoyed meeting BTers face to face ...great pool....great bike route...a little too much mud for me on the run, but that was not their fault...I had fun. Despite kissing the sidewalk it was a great event for me. I placed 2nd overall in my AG..which I am still looking at the numbers because my swim REALLY sucked bad...and was 4th in the run....but my time was 3+ minutes better than the girl right under...I'll study it later. Great event...I'll do it again next year if there isn't a conflict.

  • Comments: Overall, it was a good race. I will sign up to do this one again. It's a great course to see how fast you really are. I am disapointed that I didn't break the top 10 though, but the guys who did finished in less than an hour. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. LESS THAN AN HOUR? I was shooting for less than 1:05 overall and missed that by 2 minutes. The guys in the top 5 in the St. Patty's day tri were less than 1:05 so I figured I could get up there if I made that. The thing i have to think about again is that I would have placed 2nd if I went Clydesdale. I could have easily put on 5lbs in the last week to meet the cutoff. Of course, I feel a little guilty doing that and not just trying to compete in my AG. More to ponder I guess. One thing that was weird about the placement on this race. I was in the top 10% overall but only top 27% in my AG. I guess that shows how competitive the 35-39 AG is.
