  • Comments: Second year in a row doing this race. It's in a very rural part of New Jersey, kind of nice getting away from the built up area that I live in.

  • Comments: Really like this race. Good time of year, good location, fits well as a "prime" race for my training programs while allowing some time off afterwards before kicking up the programs again for the finish of the season.

  • Comments: Another solid DQ race; they do a good job. I was scheduled to do the Piranha-timed race in Middletown, DE on Sunday but circumstances didn't play out to allow for that and this just fit the schedule better.

  • Comments: There weren't many post race activities run by the race, but Team Triumph had a great celebration going on! This was my first tri without any family, but TT really did a wonderful job replacing them. They cheered and were encouraging the whole way through!!! A good intro race, but the bottom line is that this race didn't have too many newbies, and my lack of training showed. It's really time to step it up.

  • Comments: There was only one water station for the entire event. It was halfway through the run. There was also water and food at the end.

  • Comments: Another solid effort from the DQ folks. The rain kind of screwed this one up; once it started coming down it came down hard. I've never been around when they started packing up the racks and getting all the race accoutrements put up, and I've stuck around longer than we did here. With the rain, though, they wanted to pack up and get gone and I don't blame them.

  • Comments: Overall, not a bad race. The line for race numbers/chips before the race was annoying, but during the race everything was very well organized.

  • Comments: Parvin State Park was the right size race for me. Laid back and everyone was so friendly and encouraging. I went to the Philly tri this weekend, too. Exciting, but glad I was just a spectator at it -- this time.

  • Comments: I'm demoralized today because my buddy who did his first race beat me by 5 minutes. He passed me on the bike and I couldn't stay with him. Knew that if I didn't stay with him on the bike, I'd lose him on the run since he's a faster runner than I am. I'm feeling sorry for myself and I'm sure it will only last a day or two but it still sucks.

  • Comments: I enjoyed this race. I did the duathlon last year. It's a nice area and the folks that run it are nice and know what they're doing.

  • Comments: I like this event, although I still want to whine about the swim (which I think was longer than claimed, doggone it!). I've now done three of the DQ venues (Belleplain twice, Marlton Lakes twice, and now Parvin) and I really like this one; good one to put on the calendar every year. I can't complain about the DQ races...they do a nice job and their events are a good time, plus they give you so many events. I'd like to see bigger crowds (like they have at Marlton Lakes), but 235 isn't bad.

  • Comments: Great race overall. The race director kept referring to how great a field we had today. I’m not sure if he was being serious, or just trying to make everyone feel better if they didn’t finish where they’d hoped. Either way, I was surprised at how well I did! I was 34th overall (out of about 160, I’m waiting for the “official” results), and placed 3rd in my age group (Male, 30-34)!! For the first race in 707 days, I was very happy. I find this pretty significant because the toughest age groups for men are 30-34 and 35-39 (the latter being the toughest). Just fyi - for women it's late 30's to early 40's that have the best endurance athletes. You might think it's the young kids in their 20's, but it takes a long time to build the endurance necessary to maintain speed in a triathlon. Now I feel even better! Overall, great way to get back on the racing “horse.” The transitions went well; I don’t feel like I lost hardly any time. Granted, I didn’t have a wetsuit to contend with,

  • Comments: 2nd year I did this race. Don't know why they did the course change but it worked out ok. Fun race, very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Enjoyed myself on the course, had fun. A good mix for good competition (Some the regions top AGers) and alot of newbies. Fun race, no thrills, but great location and vibe to it. DQ does a really nice job.

  • Comments: I later learned that no one else entered as an athena, so if I would have stayed for the awards ceremony, I would have won a medal or something.

  • Comments: I liked this race. No major frills, no DJ, but it was a nice course, a nice lake, good organization, and really good volunteers. I enjoyed the expirience and likely will do it again.
