  • Comments: An incredible race to start the '08 season!!! I absolutely love the race, the course, and the entire atmosphere. Definitely doing this race again next year and I'll be better prepared for sure! I do think it's going to help me become a better performer as the season goes on especially considering I got through the run even though my legs were in a lot of pain. On a side...talking with Macca in the morning was pretty special as was listening to Lieto and Macca talking Tri with one another. I also liked ending the day taking pictures with Macca, Yoder, Ficker, Fiona Docherty. What a great event!!!

  • Comments: Putting the Clyde/relay wave last sucks. This wave averages a lot faster than the waves in front of them leading to a lot of passing and not the safest bike course. Bike course may, on the surface, feel like a rural setting but is in fact has many impaitent, agressive, urban drivers.

  • Comments: The best race I've ever been to. This race was in a completely different league than any other race I've done before. It's a shame I wasn't very well prepared for it.

  • Comments: Despite the awesome run finish, my initial thoughts on this race were very negative on my performance. Now, in retrospect and seeing my times, this race was a victory for me in a lot of ways. My best swim ever in a race. 15mph avg on the bike on a very hilly course with a complete stop/pause for the accident. Awesome negative split on the run with a very painful foot. I gained a lot of race wisdom on this race and the feeling of accomplishment knowing that I didn't quit is pretty doggone awesome. This was the toughest course I've done yet and I'm already looking forward to next year. I know I can do better!

  • Comments: The first race I've done with a pro field. Macca, Desire Ficker, Go Jessie, and others. Very cool to see the pro field swim ahead of us. Alomst surreal to see how fass they are. Got to see them pass us on the bike going the opposite direction. Lots of whoosh, whoosh sounds. Very cool to see how interactive and friendly they are with average people at these races. What a well run race. Course was nicely laid out and lots of helpful volunteers. Great to see the neighborhoods in the erea embrace the participants and come out to cheer for them. As well run as a race can be. Will make this a yearly right of spring.

  • Comments: Great race really enjoyed myself I was just going to finish so I was happy that I did. Only thing wrong I would say was the lack of cloths I wanted to buy some but they didn't have a good selection. Other then that this was a great race and I'm so happy to say I finished a Olympic Tri!

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: I knew with the lack of training I'd be going a lot slower this year, and actually thought a 3:15 would be a good goal - I was anticipating losing some time on the swim and bike, but was hoping for about a one hour run, which (if I did the math correctly) would have come out closer to a 3:00 event. So I inadvertantly hit my goal time almost exactly on the nose!

  • Comments: Before I completed Columbia I didn't know if I would ever want to do this again since it is so early and my bike training seems to be lacking in the beginning of the season. I hate to ride indoors. But now I might reconsider since this was a great time for me. It's getting me mentally ready for my next race. While I'm disappointed in my time I am glad I finished and felt great doing it.

  • Comments: Great race, great result and great times! I knew the course like the back of my hand, knew every turn, every hill, what gears I could push wear and every downhill I could make up time. This sort of ride is suited to me and let's me play on my strengths very well. I felt awesome at the end and even though I probably could have pushed it a little tiny bit more I would not have gained much overall. And we got hardware to boot! 3rd place men's relay!! Considering the disparity in our runner's time to the guys who got 1st and 2nd, we did awesome all around as a group and showed that it takes a good solid team effort to place well and not just one fast person. I think I like this relay stuff! ;)
