  • Comments: Great race, good organization. I think I'm going to do their half iron distance race this fall rather than an IM branded one.

  • Comments: i would rate this average because they change the bike course to sprint and not because of the weather its because of the construction which was 2 months ago could have been planned in advance.

  • Comments: Awards was terrible. They announced that they were going to start awards when I was in the middle of packing up transition. I stopped what I was doing to go there thinking they were actually going to start. They kept delaying it by "10 minutes" until it was ultimately an hour and a half late. I didn't really care about the time, but I did care that when they finally got to M30-34 and I got my award, unbeknownst to me, they had already started tearing down transition. When I got back to transition there were a handful of bikes left with no fences up. Nothing of mine got stolen, but it is annoying to come back and see that the people who are supposed to be in charge of ensuring $10s of k's of bikes are safe are completely ignoring them. Other than that, the race was really well run. Although I will reiterate, that marina is like swimming in a sewer.

  • Comments: As usual the swag is ok (shirt, socks, and advertisment), the event itself is great except I am not a fan of swimming in a boat harbor (I know no one purges the lav...), Post activities seemed to be week. Overall I was at the border of MOP and BOP and by the time I was ready for a mussel milk they were already shutting down.

  • Comments: Really enjoyed the race. Didn't like the grassy hill to run up, but overall it was a great race. Just need to get my nutrition better on the bike then I should be able to trim some significant time next year.

  • Comments: Greg always manages to pull it off. The late change in the run course made things a little dicey. South Shore Harbor was a nice change of venue, though transition was a bit tight.

  • Comments: Still a well put on race by Outloud Productions and I like the new venue. Would liked to have had more drink stations on the running course and maybe some wet sponges, but that could be because I didn't hydrate well enough so I won't include that as a knock on Outloud.

  • Comments: Outloud! does a great job. This is the 1st year for the new venue, and I thought it worked great. I enjoyed the race last year (my 1st tri ever) but there were refinements this year that I liked better. I know there were a few bike crashes, but it sounds like most did not involve motor vehicles. The bike course was much less congested than average. Clear Lake tri was my 1st Sprint and now my 1st Oly, so it has a special place in my heart.

  • Comments: Very good race. With the daily high expected to be 107, I was hoping for the race to start on time since I was in the last wave. It was about 15 minutes late. One safety item. There was a very large gap in the concrete on the bike course just outside of transition/ mount line. I saw one person from the sprint race crash as I was waiting for my swim wave. I'm sure it will be addressed next year

  • Comments: There were a few course issues that bothered me, but they were not major things. The most bothersome thing was that for 5 days or so I had no race results. Everyone else that I knew who did the race had theirs. Mine finally appeared and showed that I hit my goal of coming in under 3 hours.

  • Comments: Decent race. Glad to see they improved the traffic situation from last year. Police and volunteers seemed much more visible and in control. The changes to the swim worked out well too.

  • Comments: The Bike racks are very confusing. Cant find my rack and had to ask a Volunteer for assistance. Took me over 5mins and another 5mins for her to find my rack. Other than that, its a well organized race. Would be nice to have a little medal or memento though... at the finish line we didnt get a thing, just bottled water!

  • Comments: They avertised lots of food but that was not the case. They did not have any left by the time I finished. There were not a lot of volunteers and some of the intersections were very dangerous because they were not manned.

  • Comments: Bike course went through awful roads, lots of road traffic much of it without cones or cops. swim entrance over shells. Poorly organized pre race with chip pick up day of race rather than pre race

  • Comments: Poorly organized. 1. Swim course unsafe due to unmarked underwater hazards and rock/oyster bed entry/exit. Gator nearby didn't come into play (thank goodness). 2. Transition exit/entrance for bike crossed over run couse, not safe. 3. Wrong time of year due to weather and water temp (high temps bring in jellyfish).

  • Comments: As I mentioned in my bike comments, the race was good, but the set up and the stationing of road services was below race standards. I'd say the race was 90% organized.

  • Comments: I like this distance. Being predominantly a swimmer, I like to see the swim be a little more material part of the race. Weak swimmers can't bluff their way through a 1500m course without spotting you 5-10 minutes. Revenge!

  • Comments: I would definitely do it again.Thankful for all the blessings bestowed upon me to be physically able to race again. My last event was in April. Heard one swimmer saw a 4 foot alligator during his warmup just a 100 meters out. That might improve your swim time.

  • Comments: This was a good solid event. There were a decent number of volunteers and PLENTY of food at the finish line. After Tejas I decided that these guys knew how to treat the athletes and will continue to support them. There were no lines and easy access to water, sports drinks, and sodas. Other events make you go through a line (like the big marathons) that make it hard to get your well deserved bounty. Last comment - It is now the Sunday after the event and there isn't any sign of the official results. Ugh. The only thing that I thought was odd was that there didn't seem to be as many lifeguards/canoes on the swim, but I may have been too preoccupied with my swim to notice.

  • Comments: Pretty well organized and good volunteer support. Will do it again next year as I like the distance and is a good set-up for late season races. Only suggestion/comment is to improve or move the swim start/finish. Too many people got their feet cut on the rocks.

  • Comments: Enjoyed the distance and most parts of the course. The volunteers who were there were great, but overall this event was sorely lacking volunteers. I cannot stress enough how disappointed I am that there were 2 major intersections on the bike course that were unmanned and that is unacceptable. Also did not get to enjoy any of the post-race party. There was NO pizza or wings by the time I finished the Olympic course. Half-eaten watermelon rinds mixed in with the "fresh" watermelon made me change my mind about having a couple slices.
