  • Comments: I would give a 5 if not for the unsafe conditions on the bike course. There should have been a sign or volunteers before the hill on mile 4 warning people to slow down.

  • Comments: It'a solid course and fun to do. The organizers were all fouled up when picking up numbers the day before and when I showed up on race morning to rack my bike (yes, I was there right at the opening time) they hadn't even gotten the bike corral set up. Posting of the results was very slow. That said, once they got going the race was well run and they had plenty of volunteers on course. I'll do it again.

  • Comments: Still looking for the post race food, and was happy to see the posted the times on-line quickly. Also heard a rumor this may be the last Kirkland race as the attendance was way down this year. Hope not!

  • Comments: I thought AA Sports did a poor job at this race. It looked good--lots of banners, arches, loudspeakers...all the fancy stuff. However, they had two PA's talking at the race start so you couldn't hear the race directions. Then, the race was very late to start because the wind blew the buoys away. Bad planning by the RD if you ask me. You'd think you would anchor the buoys in Lake WA....on a windy day. The run from the swim exit was uphill about 1/4 mile. I would have been furious if I'd been doing the whole tri. It was not a good exit, very poor planning. The transition and finish area were also about 1/4 mile apart. There were a couple of intersections where, despite having flaggers, I did not feel safe riding through. None of the volunteers I spoke to could answer any of my questions, easy ones. I appreciate volunteers, always, but I get frustrated when they are just standing around and can't help. The ones in the tag area for the teams were changing the rules minute by minute

  • Comments: Slow start, but the wind was blowing away the swim markers, so not their fault. Great street control. It was residential streets and I didn't get stopped at an intersection one time.

  • Comments: Well organized, and lots of volunteers. The park is too small to have this many people, and the small area for the food area was also too crowded for the amount of people. It should have been spread out more, and they had the room to spread out.

  • Comments: Did not have a central area to hang out for awards presentations. No set time for award ceremony to begin. Results were layed out on a table rather than posted on a wall making it impossible to see placings easily. Other than that it was a fun course with WONDERFUL volunteers. Good cheering from crowds and very sociable fellow athletes.

  • Comments: Guy on the PA in the AM was a bit too serious. The plunder after the race was good. Last tri of the season and what fun it was. Can't wait for next season. Awesome sport and with great people.

  • Comments: Left after grabbing some orange slices, bagel and peanut butter. Endurox. Had some stomach discomfort w/ 12oz of Accelerade 9 miles into bike. Water only next time

  • Comments: I'm thrilled. Last year, my time was 1:39 and change, so I've improved in a big way. Next year I'll be lucky to shave off a minute or two, but we'll see! All in all, a big success.

  • Comments: It was a real nice race. Over a thousand folks and they kept everything running real smooth. I couldn't believe the amount of volunteers they had out. Kirkland is a busy little town, especially on the weekends. The voluteers did a great job of keeping traffic at bay.
