  • Comments: Finished up and found Karin who told me she wasn't going to race. Saw a few Wattie Ink teammates but didn't stick around as it was early and we had a chance to get home and enjoy Sunday afternoon. Really fun race and I'm glad I got to experience the Elite Wave.... Thanks Sponsors: Wattie Ink, Reynold's Wheels, Scott Bikes, Kask Helmets, KSwiss, Power Bar, Speedfil, 454 Tattoo, Fuel Belt and ISM 101 Pipe & Casing, Kurt Orban Partners and Wins Wheels Coach Brian Stover Accelerate 3 Karin Langer: Chief Operations Officer Casa De Nabor Special thanks to Sean Watkins for getting me into the race and Heather Jackson for chickening out at the last moment and not toeing the line against me!!!

  • Comments: expo was pretty good. nice post race food choices. transition from the beach sucks because you run up this crazy steep ramp up the hill. good race! would be challenging as a first tri for anyone but easy for someone that has a few races under their belt.

  • Comments: There were lots of volunteers. They were all so encouraging. We stopped for Baskin Robbins "31 below" peanut butter cup afterward. Someone has to be last. If I had done a normal swim I would have placed 10th. I debated about whether to publish this race report as public with such bad results, but if it will help encourage someone else, then I probably should. I definitely wanted to document it so I could have a comparison for next year and other races. I do my training, but I think mentally I just am not as competitive and give up and don't keep pushing during the race. I think it helps my husband mentally because he has been injured and he still beat my times.

  • Comments: Diabetes-wise I couldn't ask for more. I woke up with a good blood sugar and held it throughout the entire race. Swimming is still getting better each time I get in the water. However, I do believe I could push a little harder on the runs and bike, especially the bike portion. My transitions will also become faster. I would say I should practice that but while I was living in Los Angeles where would I practice more of this, leave my stuff with the homeless? Time to join a triathlon club!

  • Comments: Overall a good race. The packet pick up was chaos since everybody had to filter through 1 line (people registering, paying for the race & 1 day license, and those of us that already had done all this) Could have had different lines to allow us to pass through quicker. Other than that, things went pretty smooth.

  • Comments: Age groups f'ed up by Active.com. No bike racks for F 40-45. What the f? Also, sending M 40-45 behind us is stupid, they swam right over us.

  • Comments: Good Lord, I'm a lousy swimmer! Still almost 4 minutes faster than last year. Swim, T1, T2, ans bike all faster than last year. Run was a tad slower. Should not have been.

  • Comments: I liked this race. It was not huge but had many different activities going on through the whole weekend. There was a 5k, swimming events, a "duathlon", sprint, mini-sprint and paddleboard events. There was definitely stuff for the whole family to do. My son enjoyed the bounce house, shocker.

  • Comments: This is a great race and one I will look to do in the years to come. The volunteers were great, the transition area very organized and well laid out and there were some great fans cheering along the way. There was even a group along the side of the road doing the wave which brought a chuckle as I rode. The roads had no traffic which was one less thing to worry about. Competitors were friendly before and after the race.

  • Comments: I signed up for the race the day before just because a couple of buddies were doing the sprint.... When I went to sign up the told me they were sold out but I talked them into letting me at least do the mini.... That was pretty cool of them... I haven't trained since Ironman Arizona but the race was in my home town it was short and I figured what the hell... I would not have drank so much the night before if I really thought I had a chance to make the podium..... oh well it was my b-day...
