Comments:

I obviously either went a little too hard in mile 2 or not hard enough in mile 3. I believe it's the latter. My focus wandered. Gotta work on the mental game.
What would you do differently?:

Focus. Go hard consistently through the whole race.
Post race
Warm down:

walked/jogged a bit. Ate. Stood around and BSed with people from work.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of mental discipline.
Having done a half im 2 weeks prior

Event comments:

A PB. I finally broke a 7 minute pace in a race. Cool.

Great race Mike.  Good standing with you at the start and running with you, well, for the first hundred yards or so.  You did a great job moving through the traffic where I got caught up a couple of times.

After seeing your splits I'm wondering if the mile markers were off a little bit.  I had the same thing, Mile 2 was much faster than Mile 3.

See you Sunday at Pittsford.

Chris.

Great time! Yeah, start to get a little tired near the end and it is easy to lose focus. I just try to pick feet ahead of me (if there are any I can see) and concentrate on catching them and passing them.

Or I just let my mind wander completely off of racing and think of projects/plans for other things and let my body do what it knows it can.

Mike, WTG on the sub-7 minute mile! Thats excellent!

Chris, you may be right about the mile markers being off a bit. On the other hand, there was the downhill in mile 2. I know I picked up my pace through that.

Anyway, see you guys on Sunday!
