Subject: Fall/Winter Concerts
So tonight I am heading to Pittsburgh to see the first show in Pearl Jam's US tour for their new album Lightening Bolt. I have streamed the album on iTunes and am pretty happy with it. I look forward to their show tonight, I have seen them before but it has been 10 years. They are one of my favorite bands and I love live music. Anybody excited for the fall/winter concert season? I am really looking forward to getting back out to see live music. There are a few others on my watch list and I might start hitting some of the local small venues to see some shows again. I haven't been going to much recently, but really want to change that moving forward. My music taste is so varied and I would probably go see just about anyone live.

I am debating getting tickets for Jay-Z. Rap shows are notoriously bad, but I hear he puts on an incredible night.

I might need to find a date to go see Justin Timberlake in December.

So who is anyone going to see this fall/winter? Who do you want to see?

I saw Rob Zombie's Halloween show last year and it did not disappoint.  It was an ultra cool homage to the old B horror movie and he pulled out all the stops for the holiday.  Sadly he's not bringing that around again this year.  Halloween shall not feel fully complete this time around.  Sigh.

Just remember to take it easy with the crowd surfing.  You're not as young as you used to be.  ;-)

I haven't been to a lot of concerts, but my daughter wanted me to take her and her friends to "Rock Fest" earlier this summer.  I figured, what the heck I like music.  It was quite the adventure as they repeatedly drug me all the way to the front to get crushed and mosh pitted to death by 20,000 people.  I asked her what I did to make her hate me so much on the way home.

Lets see, the bands were... 10 Years, Taproot, Sick Puppies, Hollywood Undead, Trapt, Blue October, and a few more i've never heard of.

I was originally thinking of going to that show with a friend who is a PJ superfan. Ten Club, etc. We did MSG final show a couple years ago.

I decided against it, when Phish announced. Fall tour. I actually got mail order for Reading and Atlantic City night one, i sold the Reading on stubhub. I expected to get one or the other and trade if i had to. Phish on Halloween is something not to be missed. They do a whole set as a "musical costume," covering a classic album beginning to end. They've done Dark Side, White Album, Exile on Main St, Loaded, others. The prediction for this year is Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, with the in-house pipe organ at Boardwalk Hall.

I just saw Chvrches and will see Haim in a week. I guess Nada Surf is going to play their entire 'Let Go" album and we talked about going to see that.

I would be open to Justin Timberlake and Pearl Jam (let me know how the show is!!!) for bigger shows, and shoot Cher is coming ....

SXSW is in March so I just need to get my fix until that Smile

I saw Sara Bareilles in this tiny little venue here and she screwed up a whole bunch, forgot some lyrics, was off key etc. but she was so absolutely charming, it was a great show anyway.

I'm not a huge fan of her new album but I think she's great.

It's months away but I am fulfilling a long-time goal of going to the South x Southwest festival in early March. Hardest part was getting a hotel room.

Something like 500 bands to choose from, industry hospitality parties, jacked-up on RedBull for three days...my belly-button is puckering and un-puckering with anticipation already.

They are coming to Glens Falls in a few days. I'm going to try and win tix from the local radio station otherwise I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
Would like to go see the guys, but I'm a little too old for going out.

The "scene" has got a little way too intense for me.
And this is coming from a guy that used to have dreads.
Though I never got into that heavy stuff some of those wooks are into, I kinda hate drugs, patchuli, and beards now.

PJ was so good on Friday night I almost drove to Buffalo for the Saturday night show too. I hindsight I should have gone and not worried about being home for that miserable Browns game yesterday. No opening act, they went on stage about 8:20 and played until 11. We missed the first 2 songs (Pendulum first time played live off Lightening Bolt and Of the Girl) because we had an hour long traffic issue about 15 minutes into our drive. We got to our seats as they were starting Nothingman. They next 2.5 hours were incredible. They played 7 songs from their CD that comes out tomorrow, you can stream it on iTunes already. Overall they played 31 songs, no Jeremy and no Evenflow.

My love of live music has been confirmed and now I am going to make sure I make it out to one concert a month going forward.

I listen to electronic music, so my concerts consist of me going to see DJ's who come through town.

I'm very excited to go to a festival in Houston where the following DJ's will be playing that I want to see... Simon Patterson, Comic Gate, Shogun, Sean Tyas, Wolfgang Gartner, ATB, and Aly & Fila.

Then BT is coming to Dallas in December.

This past weekend I saw Shogun and Arty.
