Maybe this is a dumb idea...but I was just thinking...perhaps just for fun the brass of BT could put together a little formula that on a daily basis spat out the average workouts of the entire population of BT (for those who actively log of course).

I just thought it might be neat to see how many miles and yards BTers have logged over the last year/5 years/etc.

Whaddaya think?

That would be pretty cool Brian.  S/B/R only though.  As I really don't care if someone has snow skied, volunteered at races, etc.  As one would notice by my logs.

I can tell you that I would enormously bring that average down, and am listed on the left of the bell curve.

It would have to somehow ignore people that don't log...maybe people will have had to post at least one workout in the last month to count?

I like it.  But maybe just do totals, not averages.  It would be interesting to see.

I think a workout ticker would be cool.  Have workouts and user names scroll across the top of the site.

I would assume this would be something you could participate in or not?  I would rather not have anyone see my pedestrian workout numbers.

Down here in Louisiana it always seems hard to move to the left, oh wait, we aren't talking politics.  Never mind.

I just thought it would be neat for Beginner Tri to brag a little bit about the positive force they bring to the world.  Call it bragging, call it marketing, whatever, it's all good.

"BeginnerTriathletes have run around the world x amount of times, swam the English Channel x amount of times, and biked x amount of miles."

What about the option to show (for those who choose) a bar graph showing total time/distance in each discipline/activity?
