I discovered this ABC show about 3 months ago, despite it being on for nearly 5 years. Quickly became a favorite due to the great writing, and the quirky/funny undertone of the whole thing. Not your average police/crime drama. And Stana Katic (the lead actress) is melt your brain beautiful, too, which doesn't hurt .

I watched the first and part of the second season when it came out, but I haven't watched it in several years. Maybe I should pick it back up.

My wife and I watch this one together.

It's good, light, fun stuff, which is exactly what I want at the end of a long day. Nathan Fillion is very funny and, yeah, Stana Katic is gorgeous. But it pales in comparison to "Moonlighting", the show it's so obviously modeled on.

my hubby and I watch it for the exact same reasons - except yes, Stana Katic is gorgeous but for me not really a reason to watch - maybe it's a draw for DH.

usually a decent story, likeable characters - sometimes serious but mostly not.

I love how when they go for 'takedown' he wears a vest that says 'Writer'

Love it (and Nate fillion)! They also work iin a lot of firefly references, and frequently have guest stars from the whedon-verse on, which is a bonus. And, unlike it's counterpoint show (bones), "recent developments" have made the show better.

Yep!  I've watched it from the first episode and like it for the same reasons - light, fun, reminiscent of Moonlighting, and I like the writing and the banter between the characters.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the main relationship though...

My wife and I watch it and love it. To me, while the eye candy is nice, the story keeps me there (I don't care how good you look if you can't act and the writing sucks I am not watching). There have been a few episodes that just stink but mostly it is all great writing and excellent acting, especially all the Whedon show references that my wife never gets.

And even the worst episodes still have really really good points in them, usually comedic.

Lisa and I watch this -- fun, light, lots of unexpected twists. The rhythm of the dialog is almost too choreographed for me, but I still like the show.

Yep watching since day one with the wifey - not sure how much longer they can carry it on but a good show. We were late Firefly fans though.

No kidding!  I love Beckett's hair.

It's a fun show.  I agree with whomever said that it's gotten better recently compared to Bones.

My wife and I watch it together, so that is a point in it's favor. The writing is good, the acting is good, and it is light enough that it is a good way to end a day. The ancillary characters are well done. They play up the writer aspect pretty well, and seem to have some guests on that really play to that. I do believe they are treading on thin ice with the relationship thing, but they seem to have done a good job of not overdoing it.

Have fun getting caught up, the first few seasons were pretty good on the Moonlight type of "will they or won't they" feel.

Have watched this show from the beginning! One of my main stays on Hulu queue! Was watching it by myself, but got Dave in on it. It is definitely an enjoyable show and has become a bit more entertaining in the last season or so.

So glad that Kate & Castle finally got together! The writers make it work without seeming like it'd be the end of the show, imho.

There is usually a good line or 2 in each show. Loved the twist, earlier in the season...won't necessarily give it away. But it was a surprising one!! (Castle's Dad)

x2 on the "writer" vest...smart that he got a bullet proof vest though! (Granted...in a fictional reality, but still!)

We watch it.  Usually, its a record while we watch revolution.  But been on it since day 1 due to Nathan Fillion/Firefly/Joss Whedon connection :D .  When he did Mal in a Halloween episode, that was great.

I've been amused to watch how her hair has followed / led the romantic plot lines.

This is the one show we DVR and watch together other than American Horror Story.  I like Nate and he likes Stana but thinks she needs a cheeseburger or many on most days.  Also love the supporting characters - fellow cops other than the new captain and his Mom & daughter.  Good show.

The wife and I LOVE Castle.

And I occasionally catch myself in a mirror and remark, "I really AM ruggedly handsome."
