Subject: RE: Running early in the AMI'm notoriously bad at eating breakfast, but now that more of my training is early, I try and at least eat something, but it's usually a gel or a banana. I'm up and out quickly, most days up at 6:15 out by 6:30 for a ride or a run. I take a gel or two on my longer rides and run with a fuel belt that has a couple of bottles of extran in it.
Wednesdays, I'm up at 5 for 5:30 masters swim. I have a banana or piece of toast, as it's a 5 minute drive to the pool, and then 10 mins talking before we swim. After the swim I do my long slow run (about 12km at the moment ) so I have a gel before I leave, and my extran in the fuel belt.
I'd like to have more in me sometimes, but I just can't get up earlier and eat then wait to run/ride.
A smoothie might be good, or just some chocolate milk.
