OK...
One month out...who's in?
I'm in with a buddy of mine flying up from Orlando to do it for the second straight year.
Looks like a great field again in the M40-44 age group. Will take a great day just to finish in the top 10. My ticker is feeling better everyday, so hopefully I can push hard and make a good run at a top spot.
I see the race is SOLD OUT at 1000 spots...congrats Kim!!!

We're go, fly.
I also have a friend coming in town for the race (Columbus, OH). I'm pumped because it is his first crack at a tri after seeing the kind of shape I've gotten into.

And I agree, the level of racers always seems to be high for the Peachtree Sprint. For any age group.

Good Luck All!

Unfortunately I'll be in Nashville for a friends son's wedding that weekend. I had hoped to do this one this year as I've heard great things about it.

I just got in before it closed, too. I don't live too far from that part of the world and might do a bike recon. before race-day..

Good luck to all.

I'm in.. looking for some season redemption. Red Line+ will be my effort that day. It's a great race. Very well done. 1000 racers is pretty incredible.

Don't quote me on this, but I think the PTC-tri club does group workouts on the course. It might be a good chance to recon.

Red line? I puked twice on the run in Chattanooga (okay, 1 1/2 ... but the 1/2 was only because I didn't have enough on the stomach to make it a full).  Previously I had thought that I needed to do these races in Z4.  I was wrong.  I did the entire Chattanooga race >Z5  ... apparently when you push it too hard, your body rebels

This is an awesome race. Kim Bramblett does a phenominal job and the Peachtree Tri Club is a class act.  The volunteer support from the community is equally as good.  Even though it is a short distance race and therefore will be painful this year (see notes from Chattanooga above).

Be sure to stick around for the awards ceremony.  It is great to see folks you "know" from other races pick up their hardware (something I will not have to worry about!).

Me, too!!!  I think we should add "mimosa drinking" to that list, too!  I'm happy to be in charge of that

I'm unfortunately out. Stress fractures of tibia after the PTC olympic in June. I will be volunteering for the swim portion with a safety kayak however so at least I'll get to participate in some fashion. Looking forward to a great race. To answer an earlier post, every Wednesday night, the PTC Tri club runs a mock sprint distance tri over the exact bike and run course (you can make the swim whatever you wish since it is OWS in Lake Peachtree). The meet at the PTC library parking lot (called Drake Field) around 6:30 (swimmers typically start a little earlier since 6:30 is roughly when biking begins). If anyone was interested in meeting up for a ride over the course one evening or weekend, contact me. While I am banned from running for a while, i can still (and do) bike. The PTC Tri club website is at: http://www.tri-ptc.com/phpws/ if you were wanted additional info on the weekly mock tri.

Begging, pleading, praying that more slots open, if not I am a proven cowbell maniac and find jockstrapping almost as fun as racing.

I missed out - I looked yesterday and there were still spaces, asked my wife to check her calendar, went back to register last night, and the spaces were gone -- Sounds like it's going to be a great race tough...

Wow now I am pissed.  Here I was thinking I could go in and register like 2 weeks before the race.  Already sold out? That is a lesson learned.....

I'm signed up for Peachtree City.  Last year, my first one doing triathlons, often I waited until the last minute to register.  I missed out on several good races when they were sold out and learned my lesson.

This year I registered early for everything so I didn't have to worry. Unfortunately I have been sick or injured a few times and spent more than $200 on races I did not do in '08!

I wish they would allow you to transfer or sell your number in triathlons, it would make things alot easier.

Looking forward to Peachtree City,
Justin

I wish I only spent $200 on races I'm not doing.

Some of them do let you transfer to another race if you give enough notice.  I think Jim at Multisports let's you switch around among his races.

A friend of mine did the course on Wednesday and told me the lake was yucky. He told me to be prepared to swim through weeds, lots of them.

There was some vegetation at the International distance (Oly + a couple miles extra on the bike = "international" last May; suspect the warm summer sun has helped them grow.

Think of it as an east coast version of PacGrove ... and motivation to get out of the water.
