Ron et.al. put at lot of effort into the new design. Was it worth it?

Nope. It won;t save my distance in my training log.  I start to  reply to a thread and it changes screens.  And why are we only using HALF the screen.  Its littl bitty.  Lets use the whole screen.

Overall I like the new look. There will always be some bugs to fix with a major overhaul like this. We just need to be patient and point out the things that don't work or we feel strongly about changeing again...like the 800pix fixed resolution...IMO.

Ron, I have a suggestion. You should anchor the page to the thread, what I mean is, when I open up a post, it anchors back to the top of the page, it should anchor the page to the actual thread so I don't have to keep scrolling down (hope this makes sense).

For example, if I click on this thread, "Do I like the change?", it opens it up, but I see the top section, not the actual thread.  I have to manually scroll down to the place I need to read.

Yes....other than the fact that my pages seem to take FOREVER to load. It doesn't happen on any other forums I frequent, nor any other websites for that matter. Is anyone else noticing a long time for pages to load? I'm on broadband, but this seems worse than dial-up!

Maybe? Give me a couple days to figure all the stuff out. I'm one who resists change. HOWEVER, once I get used to this I know I'll like it. Quite a shocker for a Monday morning.

Yikes! Change is good..perhaps
I miss the quotes. Liked them at the top of each page.
Have a dial up connection...seems like each page takes a long time to download
Overall, I love this site...it has been very helpful
Thanks for having it.

1. I think that the changes are great! This site is awesome, especially the training logs.
2. I agree with some of the above posts about the slower loading time.

BUGS BUGS BUGS... I don't like the BT BLOGGER. Just probably a bug that needs to be worked out, but it says that unless you title your Training Log, your updates won't show up. As of now, anyone that updates their logs has it posted on the front page of the BT Blogger.

i love change and like the new look, but i also like the simplicity of the bar across the top. seems like i have to scroll waaaaaaaaay down now to get to the content. i also miss the quotes.

thanks for all the hard work, ron!

I've got a cable modem and have slow page loads as well.  Must be a server side issue.

I've hopped on and off the site several times this morning trying to get myself to like it, but I don't. The page loads are very slow, and I'm already tired of seeing the top half of my screen with basically zero content. I love this site, visit it more than any other place on the web, but I miss the old layout.

Same slow loads here...especially returning to a thread after posting...and I'm on a commercial T1 line so it's not a bandwidth issue.

I voted that I do like the new look.  I really like the upgraded look, the addition of the loadable programs and the addition of the weather data to name a few.  But with everything new, there are a few items that I am not completely thrilled about.  Those are listed below.  Again, Ron (and crew), Thanks so much for all the work and the constant desire to improve on an already outstanding site!!  Your hard work and dedication is not going unnoticed!!!  Thanks again for all you do!

Dislikes:
1.  BT Blogger
2.  Advertisements
3.  3/4 size viewing (I liked the full page format)
4.  Loading time

I agree with Sue. I liked the old format because I could close my Favorites bar, then the webpage would fill my entire screen.  The new webpages don't do this.

I like it - very professional looking. The new features are very useful (i.e. downloading training plans, weather, etc.).

I think the BT blogger feature is kind of cool - it's fun to see everyone's updates in one spot.  What don't you guys like about it?

It is loading slowly though - agree with everyone else on this

I think it will take a little bit of time to become familiar with the new look. I will probably like it once my brain gets use to it.

I know some of the new features will be great and bugs will be worked out in time (can't save my distance in logs and no access to weather even though I should be able to I think).

But like others, the slow loading is a pain. I wish I was using more than 2/3 of the screen width.  And there is too much fixed content at the top of the screen now.  I liked it better when some of that stuff was off to the sides.

I dig the look though it'll take me a day to get used to it. But waiting this long for the pages to load is extremely tedious.

Also, re: BT Blogger... very cool features there, but I'm not really excited about having my workouts or whatever I write posted there. Maybe just list the most recently updated like before?

Thanks guys!

  1. As everyone else said, way too slow.
  2. Advertisements make the pages way too cluttered, realize we have to pay the bills, but....
  3. Miss my skins, don't particularly care for the current look.

If you click on the last post ( on the right hand side ) portion from the main view, instead of the thread topic ( on the left hand side ) it does exactly this.
