Any reason I don't see many Quintana Roo love anywhere? Obviously Cervelo is the big dog out there, but I see lots of love for Kestrel, Guru, and Specialized, but have not seen a whole lot for QR. The Kilo is one of my choices, and I like the way it looks the most. It has great components for the money. Am I missing something when it comes to QR's quality or reliability?

Good bikes.  I don't look at them because they don't fit me.  However, if they did, I would consider.

Triathlon is a very trendy and constantly changing sport.  There was an interesting article about this in the recent triathlete magazine.

I just think they just lost their popularity - no real reason, people just moved to what's popular (Cervelo).

I purchased a QR Kilo (used) and love it. This is only my second season riding it but so far, I have no complaints.

They seemed pretty hot a year ago with updated looks to their bikes and wetsuits and a bunch of advertising.  This year they seem non -existent.

Good stuff though!

Ok, that Lucero is just plain sexy. Seriously sexy. I hope the QR fits me perfectly.

I've always really liked the way the QR bikes look as well. Off topic, but QR is owned by American Bicycle Group (or something along those lines) which also owns the Litespeed brand. Probably why there are no longer Litespeed carbon bikes, as well as why the Litespeed Blade frameset was able to be re-branded as a QR Ti-Phoon.

They are as good as any other tri bike.  The market just goes through trends.  a year or 2 ago, nobody cared about Specialized for TT bikes.  Now with their new transition line with the sexy curved tubes, everybody wants one.   I think QR invented the "Tri-bike" back in the 90s and they are definitely a quality brand.  If you like the bike and it fits you well, get it.

I rode a completely stock Kilo last year in 4 sprints and blew away people on bikes that were a lot more expensive. Not one problem, only maintenance done was clean and oil the chain. IMO one of the best Aluminium frame bikes out there for the money.

I plan to upgrde to a carbon bike next year and it will more than likely be another QR.

I just bought a Tequilo!  I'm five feet tall, and I was really looking for a 650c wheel.  The QR Kilo/Tequilo and the Kestrel Airfoil were the only two stock bikes on the market that would fit me, and Kestrel was just a little out of my price range.  I was not interested in going the custom bike route.  I've only had it a week, but I think it's going to serve me well.  My boyfriend has also been riding a Tequilo for 2 years, and it's been good to him.

I think the lack of QR love just has to do with the number of dealers and the $$ put into marketing.  Cervelo sets up demo tents at M-dot races.  I know of only one QR dealer in my area, but can think of three places where I can pick up a Cervelo.  And this year, QR's big changes are in price only, which doesn't generate a whole lot of attention in the tri world.  Oh! And they've painted some bikes girly colors and threw on some compact cranks and colored saddles - their "women specific" line.  Nothing revolutionary going on here.

Here's mine since we are posting pics... new wheels coming because those punks shipped me the Kilo wheels.  (long story, but if you buy a 46cm Tequilo, you're going to get shafted.  This probably affects hardly anyone.

I have a Seduza and LOVE it!!!  Tried several bikes and spent quite a bit of time getting one that was close to my 6'4" frame and ended up with a bike I love.  I am in need of some "re-fitting" which I am not sure if i will do it on my own or not...

 Great Bikes!!!

I love my Tequilo. No problems at all - it fit me better than the Cervelo/Trek/Specialized/Cannondale bikes I tried at the time.

I got mad love for QR.  I still use a wetsuit that I bought 7 years ago.  Great company that stands behind their products.  I had a friend borrow the suit and ripped the knee joint.  They fixed it under warranty.  originators in the sport if you ask me.

I ordered my KM40 before I left on a deployment, if I had been able to see a QR in person and test it out I would have gone that way, they are pretty badarse lookin bikes. But I had a friend that had a 52cm KM40 so I knew it would fit, and I didn't have the patience to wait to order it once I got back from a 9 month deployment.

I would look at them before Specialized or Cervelo just for the fact that they aren't as popular.

I just bought a 2006 Tequilo. Fit as well as anything else and got a great price for the level of bike. Too much snow and ice recently to get much time in the saddle but plan to change that real soon.

ETA pic (apparently I need to ride in some more scenic places than my living room)

Here in the Denver Area I knew of 3 stores that carried QR.  All three stopped.  I asked them about it before I bought my Cervelo, and two of the shops stated that QR had become very hard to deal with.  Slow orders and poor customer service.

I always liked their stuff but now it is hard to find here.

Velocomp has a point - I didn't want to bring it up in the "QR Love" thread, but they are not easy to deal with (in my one and only experience).  There was a little issue with my order regarding the crank length on my bike.  I would be surprised if my LBS continues to carry QR in the future.

But my bike came in within a week, so no complaints about their ship time.

And TexasMPGal - Good luck tomorrow!  I haven't named my bike yet.  I called them up and called them cheap for shipping those wheels with the Tequilo and they gave me a good deal (through my LBS) on an additional set of wheels, so that was good.
